Barracks for Hawthorn, is new to the league, only seen Kew and WB praccy match and wasn't rapt with that.

Sounds like a Kew boy to me.

I thought an earlier post suggested that the Kew coach had banned players from the site?

And if from Kew - he does not rate WB - gutsy.

I think Old Man River is leading you guys down the garden path, his posts suggest that he was at Ivanhoe last season & I think I know who he is, but I won't let that out for now as he's obviously hiding behind his alias for a reason??

Bentleigh missing 7 or 8 regular senior players & trialling a bunch of kids from the under 19's easily controlled the game all day. Too much run & class. Might be a long year for LaTrobe unless they have quite a few to comeback into the side

A harsh critic? I'm not sure harsh would be the right word, as all I was asking young Gavin for was consistency, something he seemed unable to provide (much to the annoyance of this old soul). While I appreciate that the D3 scribe's job is not a paid one, you'd still like to think some professionalism would apply, however IMHO, the OW club and one (now past) player consistently received tremendous write-ups, while other clubs were forced to put up with bland information.

Unfortunately time constraints won't allow me to participate as the scribe for the year. If I took the role, I would go and see a couple of games per weekend, not just OW games, and family committments just will not allow that to happen. I imagine the VAFA have a scribe in place already given the season is so nearby, however if asked for a week or two I would gladly fill in to show how its done provided I could see a couple of games over that weekend.

I read with interest EAFC played at Carrum Downs yesterday. What was the Andy?

OW smashed West Footscray by over ten goals.

some very good signs, and no real OW injury concerns to speak of. Now have easter weekend off b4 having last hitout.

We still had 4 or 5 out and should be full strength for final practice match.

I noticed that St James Park and Rathmines Reserve have both had new recycled water tanks installed. Is this how Boroondara Shire are spending their $50K grant from the government?

Also, how are they filled.... keen to know. I hope our council does the same thing.

In regard to the VAFA appointing a new scribe for season 2007 - I can confirm that I am fulfilling the commitments.

I am new to the VAFA in regard to the communication side of things, but have been a player in the Amateurs since the mid 1990's at 2 different clubs and have coached for two seasons in the Amateurs - the most recent being a Premiership in 2007 at the junior level of the VAFA

No doubt my true identity will ve revealed soon enough, but the purpose of this post is to try and ensure you all (as vested parties in this league that you will receive on a weekly basis a fair account of results, accurate previews and keep all those interested updated with the events of 2007.

Big footy is a great source of information, a great gossip for all footy lovers and I have been reading with interest the D3 post accordingly. As I said I come into this league without too much direct knowledge but clubs have been more than helpful thus far to get me up to speed and my own research should I think cover things for each week

Look forward to season (finally) starting later this month !

Monash Gryphons may be struggling a bit on the field at the moment, but after winning the $10,000 from the VAFA on Monday night in last years Pick the Premiers Competetion, they are probably not struggling too much off the field.
