come on crazybear, was a compliment to ur twos. wasnt completely shitcanning u. (just a little) In all seriousness, ur 1's cant be that bad u did go up to D3 in 06 didnt u?

These were your comments back in January

Kew, they were very similar 2 marys big waz, full of themselves.. didnt like them personally, they were dirty on the field too, just scumbags, the runner punched 1 of our players, couldnt believe it..

As for west brunnie, i dont really know, i only ever played em when we had about 15players on the field, but they didnt seem that bad. They might be ok. their ground was ok too. Similar to yours waz.

Not Shit Canning at all..........

Definitely on the improve in that respect! Nearly half the goals I've kicked for my club have been against Richmond 2's but I don't see myself keeping up that ratio the way you guys are improving.

Mate, I hope not........hard work pays off in the end I guess!

Looking forward to a fun year though. Season cant start soon enough I rekon. Maybe we should have a proper pre-season comp next year. Maybe a round robin type thing, 4 x 10 minute quarters, over a 4 week period. Would be great to get a handle on some opposition changes early on and would go some way to lift the D4 standard too. Make it as social as possible too, so we can make the D4 comp a stand out comp. .....any thoughts?

I just figured out that if I attended every cricket and footy training (and games) I could have been at the club for 13 straight days! I shoud take up permanent residence there. I could pay rent to the club? $50 a week?

Time for a life!

forgot about that, soz.. but ur runner did punch a 43 year old bloke, who was just playing for the day to fill up numbers so we could actually play against you and not have 2 forfeit (cos we all just want to have a kick) in the stomach behind the umps back. If that happened to u wouldnt ur oppinion of that side be similar? Its different if its a fair bump, or just playing the game hard, but there was and still is no reason for picking a fight with a team thats got 15 on the field, talking about how good you r cos ur winning by 90points. Its quite possible ur not like that anymore, in which case i apologise, if not, well....

Wat the bloody hell is a runner getting involved for??? Runners should shut there trap and just do wat they are meant to be out there doing......Anyway who cares. Only thing I can say about Kew is that they have the best jumpers, well the right colours anyway.......Go Hawkers!!!!!

Lakey, I like that idea. But the councils and bloody cricket clubs would not allow it. I know at my former club the footballers and cricketers were always at each other. And as for the councils, well the word "Stupidity" comes to mind.

So... a good point has been raised about Kew. Will they win the 2's flag? Will they win the ones flag? Will they change their minds half way through the season or do they have the talent to win both comps?

Please let's put this issue to bed!

Since 1998 Kew reserves have made the finals 3 times for 1 premiership(2006) and 1 runners up(2004) and the seniors have made the finals 2 times for no premierships and 1 runners up(2004).

Could someone please show me how Kew have stacked the 2's during these years. Every year that the Kew reserves have made the finals the 1's have been competitive except for 2007. In 2007 Kew had club 18's which meant they had a larger pool to pick from than other sides. If Kew were to stack their sides during 2007 then do you think they would have gone out in straight sets. If they had of stacked their side then they should have won the flag!!!

One or two very good players who aren't interested in playing ones can make all the difference in the 2's. Mates who are only interested in playing with mates etc etc..... Is this stacking. I'd say Kew have had a good run with 40+ aged players who are still too good for two's but really aren't going to give great value or provide a future in the 1's. It always happens to a couple of sides each year.

I can't see a club giving up on relegation to win a 2's flag, just won't happen

Just one this idea....we would need one ground, over a 5 week period...and could even do either mid-week (Wednesday nights ) or Friday nights. One team per club, 4 x 10 minute q's, 4 games per night. (6pm to 10pm) Round 1 over the first three weeks, round 2 over week 4 and the final on week 5. Our pre-season cup!

To keep interest we can have mini-practice matches for the clubs that lose on weeks one, 2 and 3.....same ground, same night, just lead-up games. Will keep everyone interested and give everyone good hit-outs leading upto the season.

Ground rental would be at about $500 - $600 per night, but we may be able to attract a separate sponsor to assist just for the comp. (Would cost about $5k for the comp incl trophies, maggots etc etc)

It actually sounds like a good idea, how many weeks rest in between the end of the VAFA cup and the home and away season? Only thing, the ground would have to be central to all teams, so long as no1 was training on them at the time..

I rekon to end it 3 weeks prior to the start of the season for full-on hit outs and a break before the season.

Would look at Gosh's paddock where collingwood (Scum) train. The have great lights (May not be needed ) and has goals up all year round / great condition!!)

Just a good way to break up the pre-season programs.....

Passers by might mistake D4 for the scum as thats where their skill level is at!!!!! Good work by the crows!!!!!! Fraser gets smashed by 2 first gamers!!!! How long is this fraud going to continue???????

Well done on the details Lakey, dare I suggest approaching HQ for the use of Sportscover Arena, they may even have some ideas on sponsors.

Don't think so Tugger, Elsternwick Cricket Club wouldn't want their precious ground sullied by horrid footy types, and there's a curfew on the lights due to the neighbours (8.30 from memory). The track is hard and fast with sandy patches at the minute (except that northeast corner that gets fed from a broken sewer or something, and is always soggy).

No harm asking though.
