Round 10 Tips

North Brunswick vs La Trobe Uni - LTU by 12 goals
Chadstone vs Box Hill North - BHN by 1 point
Richmond vs Manningham - RC by 5 goals
Albert Park vs Mt Lilydale - AP by 8 goals
Kew vs South Mornington - Kew by 6 goals
Eley Park vs Swinburne Uni - SU by 1 goal

Seniors Tips
NB (10) vs LTU (1) Latrobe by 10 goals plus

CH (12) vs BHN (11)
If Chaddy looses they guarantee themselves the spoon. BH by 2 goals in a great game.

RICH (5) vs MAN (9) Richmond comfortably after a good win down south

AP (2) vs MTL (3) Another good game. Albert Park too strong at home. Windy 4 goal win. Calm 7 goal win. However on a different paddock the MTL may challenge.

KEW (4) vs STH M (6) Kew should shut the door on the final 5 with a 6 goal win over south. SM would be dissapointed with a loss at home last week and may spell the end of their season.

EP (7) vs SWI (8) Another good game. EP play their ground very well and should account for SU. If EP % wasn't so low they could of had a slim chance to play finals.

Reserves Tips
One of the best rounds of footy til finals time i think with (1 vs 2)
(3 vs 4) (5 vs 6) (8 vs 9) & (11 vs 12)

NB (2) vs LTU (1) Good to see NB bounce back after a shocking loss to chaddy. Must have been blip on radar. But Even though its first vs second LTU by 10 goals. They will be looking to show their dominance in the competition.

CHAD (12) vs BHN (11)
What happened to BHN finals form last year? Opposite of seniors result, CHAD will win in an epic battle. 1 goal.

RICH (7) vs MAN (10) Richmond by 8 goals in a comfortable win.

AP (2) vs MTL (3) AP lucky to escape with a win last week at home vs kew. They do play well there and if the conditions suit them (windy as hell) then they should win. 2 goals

KEW (5) vs STH M (6) Kew rarely loose at home and should win 9 goals plus

EP (8) vs SWI (9) Small grounds suit SU and Swinburne play more aggressive in the two's than EP. SU by 4 goals.

sorry for not hanging around as anyone who knows me i always make sure i stay to watch the "real game" and have a beer after, but i deff still got a traveler on sat and i got a couple for a couple of the boys that played in the ones. The 2 blokes i went with after the game also made sure they got a drink before they left aswell. i know not alot hung around but as i said i know more than a handful of guys make sure they grabed one as they left.

Wow, a bit has been going on here in the last few days! melbdocker - I certainly can attest that you always hang around for a beer and generally most of the Cobras boys do.

Your Prez has addressed it with our prez since Saturday and really its no harm, no foul - and we move on. I think we have had a pretty good mix of rivalry and relationship with your club for a number of years now.

Was a good win for us on the weekend, after being pretty much level at half time - much like last year - it was good to reverse the result and kick away.

Looking fwd to the challenge of La Trobe this week.

TIPS:

Nth.B v LT.U----LT.U by around 40 points
Chaddy v B.H.N----The bokhill boys by 5 goals
Rich.C v Manny----Rich.C by 10+ goals at home
Kew v Sth.M----Kew by 20 points
E.P v Swinny----Swinny in a close one by 2 goals

2's:
LT.U, Chaddy, Rich.C, Mt.L, Kew, Swinny.

Just finished looking on the VAFA site and notice every game was within a goal basically at half time accept the Kew v Sth.M game. And looking at the ladder it is going to be a big battle for 3rd, 4th and 5th spots, with 1st and 2nd wrapped up you'd think.

LT.U 10-0
A.P 9-1
Kew 7-3
R.C 7-3
Mt.L 6-4
S.U 5-5
Sth.M 5-5
E.P 5-5

Interesting yes... A quick tally of who plays how many of the top 8 sides with 8 rounds to go:

RC - 6 (tough road to finals)
Kew, EP - 5
MTL, SU, SM - 4

12 wins will get a spot in the top 5.

Two big games this weekend... RC @ EP and Kew @ MTL... Two home wins would really shake the ladder up.

Bigwaz - you seem a little concerned that your boys may miss out on final's action? Surely not??? what odds do you give ?

Very interesting read of the season fixture - for what it is worth here is my top 5 finals teams.

1. Albert Park - Will lose to Kew at home only and claim minor premiers.
2. LTU - Big call however I think will drop 3 to Kew,AP & MTL all away and will hold 2nd on %
3. Kew- Won't drop a game again this year (until finals)
4. MTL - lose to Kew and AP & defeat RC to finish 12W-6L
5. SWIN - 12-6 - Easy run home - will beat BHN,CHAD,MANN,RC at home,STH M,NB,EP and lose the final round to LTU.

welcome any thoughts

Well if Richmond beat Swinburne or Mount Lilydale then they we'll hold tie breakers over those sides and they'd have to finish a win ahead to make it in. Considering we have already beaten both sides I think our chances are at least fair!

Good assessment 'Fuseball......Big tip on LT.U finishing 2nd but very possible, but as for Rich.C missing out on finals again, well I doubt it. Either way this seems to be shaping up as a pretty interesting run towards finals for many clubs.:thumbsu:

If Kew do drop another game then I would sugest it will be on the road. They haven't dropped a game at home for 2 years. I think Latrobe will finish on top which will lead to a replay of last years first semi between Kew and Albert Park in the first week of the finals.

I agree with this, and think the top 3 is set as it is, possibly with AP and Kew switching places (which makes no difference except for bragging rights).

Hmm i predict that AP will beat LU at home in a couple of weeks and will finish on top due to their better percentage and LU and Kew to fight it out for 2nd and 3rd.

Senior Selections Rd 11

# Big improvement by NB last week against LT but heading down south this weekend will not be pleasant...SM x 12g
# Manny have been much improved but AP are playing like early premier favs...AP x 10g
# On the 'G' Chaddy will be unforunately smashed beyond recognition to the tune of 24g
# MTL with their backs against the wall (just to beat a side above them!!) may just get over Kew by 10p...Horne is the key in this game
# Swin at home will keep their finals chances alive by beating the ever improving BHN by 5g
# At home the Sharks are usually tough to beat but without M. Viola it will be a tough task against the RC machine that's ticking along nicely...RC x 5g

Ressies

NB...AP...LTR...MTL...BHN...EP

Round 11 Tips:

Sth.M v Nth.B----Sth.M seem to always get thier best cattle on the park at home and will keep thier finals dream alive for atleast one more week. Sth.M by 5 goals.
Manny v A.P----A.P with another % boost by 15 goals. They still have 4-5 very good 1's players to come back, so will only improve heading towards finals.
LT.U v Chaddy----Could be the biggest win in D4 history coming up. LT.U by 25+ goals.
Swinny v B.H.N----Swinny to also keep thier finals dreams alive for atleast one more week. Swinny by 10+ goals.
E.Park v Rich.C----Both sides have to win this to make finals, Rich.C because of thier tough draw coming up and E.Park just to stay within striking distance of the top 5. Rich.C by 3 goals.

2's:
Sth.M, A.P, LT.U, Mt.L, Swinny, Rich.C.

Round 11 Tips

South Mornington vs North Brunswick -NB by 1 goal
Manningham vs Albert Park - AP by 8 goals
La Trobe vs Chadstone - La Trobe 16 by goals
Mt Lilydale vs Kew - MTL by 2 goals.
Swinburne Uni vs Box Hill North - BHN by 1 point
Eley Park vs Richmond - RC by 2 goals.

Magoos
NB, AP, LTU, Kew, BHN, EP

Be interesting to see whether Mt Lilydale (the flat track bullies) can get the monkey off the back and beat a side who is in the top 3 - 4 teams. Haven't done it for a long while if ever!!

Maybe someone from MTL could confirm but last year didn't they beat AP at AP and St Francis......
Question for you all....has RC ever beaten a team above them?
Question for one intelligent Twiggy Munsen; this season have Latrobe beaten a team above them or have Chadstone beaten a team below them....think about this!!

I can't speak for Twiggy but I am pretty sure Latrobe beat Albert Park who were above them on the ladder at the time. As for Chaddy well they couldn't beat an egg.

RC lost in round 1... then beat Swinburne who were top of the ladder at the time ;)

Good news is we haven't lost to anyone below us on the ladder... Haven't played EP yet though.

Round 11 tips:

NB @ SM - I wish SM would get promoted. How dare they come into the league so recently wearing the same jumpers as Richmond! The VAFA has a lot to answer for. That said, SM by 4 goals at home.

AP @ MAN - AP must be starting to sweat a little bit, having lost to Latrobe, and with Kew breathing down their neck, and with a string of injuries to boot. Will they make the GF? If Kew can leapfrog them into second place, they'd have to play Latrobe in the preliminary. Anyway, AP by 15 goals.

The CHAD @ LT - Latrobe were chasing NB at half time this past weekend, and they are by no means unbeatable. They're not the West Brunswicks from last season, but still strong favourites to win it all. The CHAD improved against Box Hill, but will be smashed out at Latrobe. LT by 25+ goals.

Kew @ MTL - Awesome game. Both sides are in great form and both need to win for different reasons. There will be plenty of fire out on the field. MTL supporters will be in full voice I'm sure. Kew by 1 point.

BH @ Swin - Swinburne must win this game, but I give Box Hill a chance at the tiny St James park. A big CHF could kick goals from the centre square there. However, I don't think Box Hill currently have much in the way of talls, and Swinburne have a couple of giants. Swin by 5 goals.

RC @ EP - Last season we split the matches we played against EP. And both were 10 goal wins. This year I predict a much closer contest, seniors and reserves. RC by 1 point.
