Is that you fraze?

Point cook start back officially Feb1... but have been running training for people who want to continue to roll the legs over in the off period... which we've been getting about 16 blokes a night to those sessions... before the break at official sessions there would have been about 50+ guys every night... And a good mix of people too...

It's an exciting time, especially to be the 1st senior team to put the boots on... A lot of people have come from WRFL sides in the area like Laverton and Wyndhamvale and plenty of ppl from Werribee centrals and ammos.. Ppl who have moved into town from the bush who want to continue kicking the ball around... and a few blokes coming out of retirement...

I have never seen any D4 games before, but have played in other leagues.. I honestly expect Point Cook to be competitive and looking fwd to our 1st lot of practice matches!!!

Cant come quick enough!

Good work Roganjosh. Can you give the forum some feedback on the numbers at the club, the quality and anything else you can share about the newly formed Point-Cook. It must be a very exciting time for the club and even the community.
Mt.Lilydale will be playing 2 practice matches against Chirnside-Park, Olinda, Eeley-Park, Belgrave or Yarra-Glen. Sorry I cant narrow it down theese are just the clubs that have had some sort of contact, but I figure we'll have a couple set within a few weeks. I would rather play clubs from VAFA D3-D4 just to get a better feel for where abouts we sit.

Knockemdown has answered most of your questions Sneako :), but can`t give too much away as the Coach wouldn`t appreciate it !! As with my previous post will reserve judgement of the quality until i see us all play !
Looks good on the Canvas , we`ll wait and see the finished product:thumbsu:
P.S No Travvy43 it`s not Fraser, now he is coach he must stay off these forums as he is easily sucked in:D
How is Brett fitting in at Sunshine?

easy knockemdown, id say most of the blokes from vales and laverton would be 2nds players or fringe ones as they wouldn't leave clubs where they get paid to come into D4 and not get paid so in the aspect wouldnt be very good players great to have numbers but they have to no how to play and get the footy as well.
my opinon i guess time will tell

I assume from your statement that all Divy 1 players at vales & lavo get paid !!!!.
From what I beleive, there are 4 or 5 players from these clubs that played more than half a season in the 1's.
I would rather have numbers to build a team around rather than not have enough to field a team.

Mr Natural, i only said i'd expect the team to be competitive... thats all... I'm only saying that based on a few training sessions, but more imprtantly on the character of the blokes around the club... We've had 50+ blokes at every training session this year... plus 16+ at non coached sessions over xmas... where im coming from is people, all of them, are putting in the work now... thats what i am basing my opinion on... the hard work and dedication...

I could be wrong... but all i said was i'd excpect us to be competitive...

Also Re: being paid... Lavo spruked all season last year that not 1 player was paid to play at Lavo... im pretty sure the vales were the same.

Thought a few of you may be interested to know of todays lunch and meeting in williamstown between the Point Cook coach (fraser) and Rohan Smith. Interesting.

Do Monash play at Monash Uni Clayton? If so was out there wednesday and the ground looks top quality.

knockemdown so ur telling me kenndy was never get paid at the club (laverton) and a zarafa etc only to name 2 then at vales bunford and angwin. either way doesnt worry me and ur right in saying good to have numbers it all helps but u just don't want players making up the numbers. anyway good luck for the year lets hope it doesnt get to windy down at ur ground

No TD, your thinking of Monash Blues that play out at the Clayton campus, the D4 side (Gryphons) play out of the Caulfied ground, next to the racetrack. Usually in good nick due to sandy base. But can get windy from time to time.

Are you talking about Nathan Zarafa, and Lawerence Angwin? If so they would've been on big$$$.

Im sure he means Jamie Zerafa...

To be honest I couldnt say 100% either way... I can only say what was spruked on the forums last year... Both clubs said they did not pay one player last year... Coach at the vales and the team manger at Lavo said that. They were/are both active members on the forum...

But you're right, it would be a massive suprise if they didnt get any coin, all guns and would get it at most places...

Given the registrations/clearances open on Monday, what clubs are ready to go with some key signings...or departures?
