Seem like pretty fair odds.....So I'd take Mt.Lilydale over 39.5 followed by Point Cook over 39.5 into Swinburne over 39.5...$2-$4.10-$3-with a $100 outlay. Where do I wire the money and more importantly how do I pick up my winnings?????

Sure Monash should be favourite - but you obviously don't rate the form out of the SM v MC game.

Tough one this one, I'm still rating teams from last season. On last season's form, Monash at home to Mornington away, after losing at home to the Cobras, I think these odds are fair. Say what you like about teams improving, but until we've played at least 2 games (Prob take 3-4 really), it's very tough to put a line through form.

I know the Gryphs are short, but I doubt SM would have too many friends, even at this price

Monash Gryphons-121 defeat South mornington-75.....Sth.M flew out the blocks kicking 6 goals to one in first term, I'm guessing it was a healthy breeze. Monash won the next three quaters to win comfortably.No big suprise.
Box Hill North-107 defeat Eley Park-103.....Eley Park four goals up going into the final term would have been feeling ok, but B.H.Nth kicked 6 goals 7 behinds to storm home. New it would be a close game and congrats to Box Hill North starting thier campaign with a win.
Richmond Centrals-134 defeat Chadstone-11.....One goal for the entire match is shattering, I think we all new who the winner would be but just expected more from an 'improved' Chadstone. Good % booster.
Mt.Lilydale-149 defeat North Brunswick-34......Wow! Great bloody win! Whats going on there North Brunswick?? Seems the mountain Men gave you a good old fashioned wake up call. Mt.Lilydale on top of the ladder with 390% and will be the talk of D4 if they knock over Manningham next weekend.
Swinburne Uni-145 defeat Point Cook-68.....Thought it would be a bit closer. It seems Swinburne have the goods to have a fair crack this year, but as for the hype surrounding Point Cook, well if Box Hill can roll them next week they will be in all sorts!

to see MAXWELL HAMPTON playing for Mt Lilydale seconds. I no that he played under 18’s for Vic Metro, and was a gun footballer, from what I seen he was best on ground and kicked some ripper goals on the weekend, anyone no why he is not playing 1’s???

If you take a line through the Nth Brunny form then Mt Lillydale would have to be favorites.

Fair question...Max has played two great games in the magoos and considering he spent most of last year as a senior player I would think he'd be in the mix, in saying that it is a pretty tough time in selection at the moment with quite a few missing out on a game every week and with the seniors playing so well to start the year would you realy want to shuffle a winning formular????
You dont happen to be from Manningham do you???? I heard there was a couple of Manningham boys down having a look in preperation for next week.

BHN were down by as much as 7 goals against Eley Park. Came back well in second half. You wouldn't believe it but a goal after the siren was the difference. This is the second time BHN have done this to Eley Park.

Top 4 seem certain to make the finals, next 3 sides appear to be fighting for the 5th finals spot.
Saw a bit of Swinburne v Point Cook on Saturday. Really dissapointed with both Point Cooks strip (I was expecing a Western Bulldogs one) and their performance on the tight St James Park. Will be much more suited to the bigger grounds, but still have 6 or so games left to play on small ones

Monash, Mt Lilydale and Richmond have a lock on the top 3 then a gap and a raffle to the next group of 5 teams with Bok Hill, Eley Park and Chadstone lock ins for the botom 3.

It was last year you pipped them after the siren I think. Must be a great feeling winning one after the final ringer and have never been involved in such a predicament. Thats two games in two rounds decided after the siren in D4.
We are two rounds in and I would have to say any predictions for top 3-5 or who may be playing in the big one are still very premature. As for us 'Mountain Men' we have beaten Chadstone who have improved but not enough to push for a finals spot, aswell as a Nth.Brunswick side who after listening to thier coach realy didnt rate us at all before the bounce. We now travell to Manningham then we host Richmond, so if we can pick up two wins the self belief would know doubt grow around the club.

RC v Swinburne this week is shaping up as a beauty!

Also... One of the Chadstone players suffered a very serious broken leg in the senior match. The ambulance had to come out on the ground to get him. All the best to the player involved, it sounds like he may be in hospital for a while.

I believe an RC player's head was to blame. Ouch.

swinburne = strong midfield. alot of players who can break tackles and run thru the lines. backline is strong and runs well also.
their only weakness maybe their forwardline. but dosen't seem to a problem yet. if a team can smother their midfield and limit their opportunities - that might be more of a problem to swinburne than another side with a stronger forwardline.

As a newcomer to the Amateurs I have been reading with interest the comments and opinions of a number of people. Great to see D4 has traditional rivalries. Haven't been associated with a competition yet that doesn't.
I'll be watching closely and hope to get to Melbourne to watch a few games. Early season form would see Richmond, Swinburne and Monash as the front runners.
