Not saying they kicked away late, was more refering to the Mt Lilydale game. But like johnny said point cook do seem to be very dissapointing, and I don't think that a big win against them means anything in terms of the premiership race. I think round 7 will be when we find out whether or not Monash are the real deal. Until then they cant really prove anything other than they are a top 4 side.

Agree, I just think it's unfair to jump off because they haven't played Richmond, Swinburne or Mt Lilydale

Round 4 Power Rankings ............... (not including RC)

(and I missed round 3)

1. Mt Lilydale (2)
2. Monash (1)
3. Swinburne (3)
4. North Brunswick (6)
5. South Mornington (5)
6. Eley Park (9)
7. Manningham (4)
8. Point Cook (7)
9. Box Hill North (8)
10. Chadstone (10)

Too early to call a two horse race !
History will tell us all that the ladder at this time of the year is great guide but I would not be ruling out a couple of other sides in the top half having a crack at the flag.
Injuries can play a major part of any team.
A big hello to my old mate 'Sneako' - its been a while.

Cheeky B-astard.....I will uncover your identity one day my fellow Ram. You should invest in some private health insurance in the event of it happening soon!;)

Ahhh... Nice day in Mt Lilydale spoilt by a report that put us a man down for nearly the whole last quarter.
That is a really tough penalty. I don't think we could have won the game, but losing a player who can't be replaced on the field is TOUGH!
Congrats to Mt Lilydale. They were the better side.

What happens with a red card Waz?? I was under the impression you can replace the player after 10 minutes but not sure. Also is it an automatic suspension?

I was informed that Manningham played the 'D4 Brain Snapper'(#10) for a total of 10 minutes in which he managed to give away 2 free kicks and a 25meter penalty and a big spray to a couple of team-mates. Why would the club waste a spot on the pine???

A Red Card means the player cannot be replaced for 12 minutes of playing time. In this particular instance I understand that the player concerned can accept an automatic 2 week suspension. Last I heard the Club was going to fight the charge at the Tribunal tomorrow night. They also intended to lodge a report with the VAFA about the reporting umpire.

More like 5 free kicks in 20 minutes - including one when his team mate was running into a open goal. i think the umpires were a bit rough to be honest. perhaps the vafa had got wind and told the umpires to pay anything against him. nothing really in any of the incidents. Or maybe this shows that Mount Lilydale should go and play netball if they're going to whinge and cry like menstruating ladies when someone roughs them up a bit. i don't know.

You following Cobra's now James? Should be interesting with this weeks game against Nth Brunswick.

Let's be honest here Waz, RC had plenty out on Saturday, yeah a good win at the end by the Rams but we know your'e a better side than that.
I think you guys stuffed up with the red card, should have replaced your capt after 10 minutes. Also the week before Swinburne would have been dissapointed with their last qtr when you ran over them. We all know Swinburne are better than the score reflected.
Your magoos looked good on Saturday.

Go Sharks, so many players out yet at home still a very hard team to beat.:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

With regard to beating a top team during the season, Injuries occur every week. The real test of any club and the team they field week in and week out is their ability to get on their game quickly.
That said, Monash have experience and ability. This would put them in the advantage against Div 4 clubs. They have the cattle and the desire. Bring on the opposition! I for one hope they grab a cup and push on from here.

Ok then Ill change my statement.
Its official. Point Cook are a very ordinary side.

Seriously though. Ive seen both Mt Lilly and Monash play and Id rate the mountain men just in front. They looked to have a better forward line with a couple of good tall targets and their midfield were very good users of the footy.
Who are the better players for Mt Lilly? Obviously Monash are ticking along smothly!

Hey Waz,

What was O'Connor's report for? Striking? Abuse of an Ump?

Our Captain was reported for striking, though no one else (at least from RC) saw what he did or didn't do...

As opposed to the last match Lilydale played in, where everyone saw what happened except the umpire (Same umpire BTW), and nobody was reported...Coincidence?

Hence why we're challenging it tonight.

FUN.

Correct...You dont know, infact you've never realy known much about anything to do with football, which may just explain why you are where your at!

Cheer up Waz. You dont need to explain anything we all know the player in question is a true angel dressed in tiger colours.

well we couldn't get him off the charge. so he'll have two weeks to think about his evil doings.

What was your defense Waz?

I didn't end up attending. So can't comment on the internals.

The issue we have is more with the umpire. He had a shocker the week before against Manningham when he missed a bloke chopping wood with his face and hands, so apparently he had to make up for that by reporting a soft incident against RC.

Whoever has Mt Lilydale in the next few weeks should ask to have a different umpire. I think it's crap that one side gets to field their own paid senior umpire who travels with them on the Bus!

Smells abit like 'sore loser' too me. Were you at Manningham?? If you were that concerned with the report surely the 'Pres' who witnessed the 'non-incident' would have fronted up to the tribunal to voice his concerns.

We were well beaten, there's no doubt about that. And I'm not sore about it. Sh*t happens right :)

However, please justify to all the other D4 clubs why Mt Lilydale should get to have the same senior umpire every week, who is paid for his services my Mt Lilydale. To my knowledge this is the only club in the VAFA with this kind of setup.

I'm sure all the other D4 clubs would like to have their reserves umpire do the seniors as well.

Great idea Waz. I'm sure you'd love to use the 'Fat Cheat' in the seniors.

You'd probably have been beaten by less that 10 goals on the weekend if he had of been umpring.

I have no doubt that John is a terrific umpire. But there is room for controversy, simply because he's affiliated with the club.
