"Completely agree, but it's not like this is a new solution. This has been the message for years and years.

How long does not only the league, but the club itself tolerate (past five seasons) an average percentage of 30.2 with only two wins in the whole time?

The committee, the players and the sponsors and the supporters need some form of victory vindication for the effort that goes into running a club and perhaps a club 18 team is the answer.

I'm sure that "player buy in" has been spoken about to death over the years, just as "recruiting some guns". History says this will not happen, which means that Chadstone either accept that things won't change OR they actually swallow some pride and take a logical look at what is best for the club.

If that means the status quo - then fine, but maybe there is a better solution."

You all had a go at me . . .

Well done old mate, make sure you give yourself a pat on the back and wallow on the misfortune of others. What ever keeps you happy, and by the tone of your post your own company wil well satisfy that for you. I recall people weren't having a crack at what you said, but rather applauding the efforts of Chadatone to keep going and front up on a weekly basis. Unlike other sides such as Glen Eira, Monash, St Francis and Parkside etc, who for whatever reason couldn't dig deep for a year or two. But rather with the support of a spineless administration were rewarded with "Breakout" and marvelous years at levels they had no right to be competing in.

Chin up Tiger - let me be the first to bow down and proclaim you the king of everything.

You were right.

On ya Red Ross - Let me guess you vote Greens? Completely ignored the basis of the message to draw out what you wanted to. I've cut and paste below for your benefit.

"The committee, the players and the sponsors and the supporters need some form of victory vindication for the effort that goes into running a club and perhaps a club 18 team is the answer"

My whole point and opinion was based on a club seeing some on field success for the amount of work that everyone puts in.

Just saw a series of twitter pleas for player numbers at Box Hill North. Photo from their first session shows only 16 (on a rudimentary head count mind you) which would no doubt see them in real jeopardy of not participating in D4 for season 2017.

May have to slide back to Club XVIII?

Reposted for relevance after a few posters thought my concern was somewhat premature.

Sad story all the same.

Praccy matches soon, looking forward to hearing some results.. might wait a little longer than highflyeryeah before putting a ladder together!

Thought I'd have a crack at the ladder for 2017. Always hard considering all the player movement that can happen.

1. Aquinas
2. St Francis Xavier
3. Parkside
4. Eley Park
5. North Brunswick
6. Mt. Lilydale
7. Elsternwick
8. Box Hill North
9. Manningham
10. Masala

Will most likely be miles off. Anyone hearing anything about recruits or players leaving clubs?

I agree, I did a bit of an exercise last week, where I checked out the clearances for all Div 4 sides. so far I have based on pendings and approvals and have removed duplicates.

Aquinas - out - 2 , in 31
BHN - out 16, in - 0
Eley Park - out 2, in 2
Elsternwick - out 3, in 6
Manningham - out 4, in 0
Masala - out 1, in 0
Mt Lillydale - out 1, in 0
North Bruns - out 3, in 3
Parkside - out 5, in 8
St Francis - out 1, in 0

Of course we don't know the quality of players going in or out the door at the moment unless you are from that club. And also whether players currently with their club will again be pulling on the boots.

Practice match results will be interesting

Most of the Aquinas will be schoolboys registering for U19's.

Drove past MC training last night about 7pm. Roughly 12 on the track, 2 people walking a dog and one old guy running laps. New coach has reason for his concerns and being able to convince his recruits to stay. . .

It's an unfortunate situation that some clubs face, We at the EAFC understand these types of situations as last season, we generally had numbers of 15 or less at training. This pre-season however, we have had over 40 faces turn up to at least one session along the way and regularly getting 20+ guys on the track which is pleasing.

While we have other issues such as no social rooms and the grounds standards although improving, still needs more work (Oval no:2), we are hopeful for us being competitive with the top 4 teams this year.

I just want to wish all the other D4 teams all the best this year and looking forward to hosting you at Elsternwick in whichever social rooms we can aquire at the time.

Sorry to hijack the thread guys.

Richmond Central are looking for an opponent for a practice match at Kevin Bartlett Reserve on the 1st of April. If there are any clubs out there looking for a game on the above date, please either send me a private message or email contact@rcafc.com

Cheers, N&C

I know of at least 2 quality IN's for Masala from Queensland. Both young blokes, and will hold their own against most competition.

I hear Masala dangerman Lawrence Bradford could be on the way out[/QUOTE Some ins coming from EFL?
Posted 5 March on Nunawading Facebook page.

"Also to our newest teams with the amazing ladies in our Netball team and our 3rds footy team working with Masala in the amateurs competition.
ALWAYS NUNAWADING!!!"
