I'm not actually deriding. I'm looking and questioning whether it is better to have the opportunity to be more successful in a Club 18 comp rather than D4.

It may actually strengthen the club as with 24 spots available each week, it means that the guys who don't put in and don't care, just don't get a game. If there are more than 25 committed players at the club then i'll go he.

How many players are getting a game without putting in? How many ring ins just to fields a two's team?

Surely the '20'? players who are committed would love a win or to go close most weeks?

Apologies, deride not the right word to use. I see both sides of argument, but from my view I think that if filling two sides is a good start. Take that away and you may never get them back, but again your point of maybe starting to get a competitive culture going may have long term benefits.

At the end of the day it is in the hands of chadstone, and what they decide is the course best suited for them at the time.

Most Football leagues throughout the country all have teams that for a long period of time have been uncompetitive. The club I am involved in The Goulburn Valley League were wouful 4 years ago and won the premiership last season and it wasn't won by spending ridiculous amounts of money. For all we know Chadstone might be in D2 in 10 years time as things always turn around if you stick at it.Chadstone plight is character building, not only for the players but for everyone involved in the club and good clubs are built on strong character.Living in rural Victoria, there is nothing sadder in sport to see clubs with long and proud histories disappear without a trace. For some people their sporting clubs are their lives and to give up when things are tough can have far reaching ramifications.
I hope Chadstone stick around and things turn around for them.It can just take one person to come to the club with access to a handful of players and suddenly things start to turn around.
I respect the players who turn up every week knowing they are going to get a hiding and I hope they are rewarded for their efforts in the near future

Should have won the last two cups. 2014 was gale force winds [crap day for footy]

Luke Morgan is a gun - great effort to pick it up in 2015 after a cruel 2014!

We have had 30 blokes on the track most nights. Some blokes have been unavailable due to work or injury

won every game for the year minus the big one, couldn't get their heads around the wind.

As much as i have disagreed every time it is raised, i have finally come around.

Chadstone need to be a club 18 team - or become financial and play in the Southern league where they can at least buys some talent to be a competitive club. It is absolutely pointless to have them in a comp where all they provide is a percentage booster for each team that plays them.

At some point the club needs to accept that they are truly a social team and not a team that belongs in a competition where promotion up the grades is the ambition.

There - i've said it.

I remember umpiring this club when there were known as Syndal Tally-Ho in the late 1990s.

Great bunch of blokes and a good club.

Tips this week

Manningham ( Should be an easy win here)
Elley park (By 30 Goals)
Box Hill North (Should be a close match)
Westbourne (Can Nth Brunny take it upto the premiership Favorites)

For the sake of the competition would be great to have a competative Nth Brunny. Bigger Question can Box Hill actually win a game? Will TT resurface on this page we really miss his insight.

Ramjets I was at your match on the weekend and saw you animated after the game can you enlighten me on what it was about ?. I don't think anyone will come close to Westbourne this season especially the inconsistant North Brunswick , the only team that can beat Westbourne is Westbourne.

Can't begrudge Westbourne being flag favorites can you? They are the best team from last year that's still in D4 and have recruited well (again) and their early results (with many players still out) have been impressive. If you're not going to beat them, you'd at least want to be the team playing them in the big dance! D3 beckons.
