Our experience with the Lilydale boys has been fine we have had no issues with them and they have always hang around for a beer and we will this week at theirs. Take note Manningham.

Not playing this year myself, but I've never understood why it is bad manners to leave after the game? You show respect on the field and shake your opponents hand win lose or draw, why do you have to hang around?

Highly disagree.

If opposition is good enough to hang around and spend a few bucks for the benefits of your club, it should be reciprocal.

Except when you get told to get back on your bus and **** off. Duly noted.

Maybe my view is outdated but clubs try to support other clubs and expect the same in return we all know how hard it is to make a buck. Leaving straight after the game is disappointing if you stayed in numbers at that club earlier in the year.Clubs also like to recognise opposition best players with some sort of award this goes out the window too. It's not compulsory but it's one of those unwritten rules that is disrepectful to break.

Agreed RJ. Regardless of what happened on the field, it is the correct etiquette to get into the opposition rooms and stay for a drink or a bite.

Seem to recall a match in 2005 I think it was where Box Hill North were meeting Hawthorn and they had to get a panel of A Grade umpires to control a match which was called off early because things were bloody well heated. think we were the only ones who had a drink in the rooms that night too.

Jet i agree. Can you get in a team of the year with 50% games played?
Agree! 8 games played, two games injured and went off at half time in both, 4 games best on ground, 1 game in the top 3, and the final game just sat him forward. Massive asset there for you would want him representing your team of the year!

I remember that game well ... those were the days ....

Interesting conversation. Who is the best player you've seen in D4?

My Top 5
1. Paul Edwards (Powerhouse)
2. Bill Irving (West Brunswick)
3. Dan Penny (BHN)
4. Adrian Papaluca (St Marys)
5. David Tremewen (Hawthorn)

Tremewan cos he just couldn't be moved & has the best dukes I've seen in D4.
However Bill Irving is a bit more flexible & a much bigger tank.
Irving just for me.
Irving was a freak. Hard to think that west brunny struggled that year with him playing.
Sth Mornington for that one year had some rippers.
reckon swoop at Westbourne is similarly rated in higher divisions.
