Just a quick nuggety player that just bobs up to kick goals. Personally I don't think he goes that high but I feel he would be a perfect fit for the blues, they have Pickett but having another super quick small forward wouldn't hurt and he can also go into the middle for some spark. Daniels could play Round 1 and instantly give the blues forward line some extra zip and excitement.
You rate him over Gryan Miers obviously, that's surprising??

Miers and Daniels are different players, Miers is more outside and not as quick but a better decision maker/classy player.

Miers doesnt have the zip and dare that Daniels has. I still rate Miers the better overall player but I feel Daniels fills a more specific need for Carlton.

Brett Daniels at 172cm?

Wow wee - must be some sort of player to crack the top 40, despite playing in a team which has won 3 games all year.

I've never seen him, so it's not a criticism.

Daniels is a good player but see him a bit later. Hard to get a kick in the Pioneers team despite having a good side on paper

LDU to slip to pick7? Surely north take him?
They will take dow if he is available, I hear they really like Stephenson, they want more speed in the middle and although LDU is quick he isn't as quick as those 2.

Norths midfield depth is poo, Stephenson more winger? Would be stoked if that happened tho
Stephenson can play inside, he hasn't got the size that LDU has but id argue he attacks the contest harder as a mid.

Saints could get some decent sliders at 7 or 8. Darcy Fogarty I wouldn't think twice to pick if he falls through same as Stephenson

Darcy Fogarty would be the least of our needs! Slow inside bull that hasn't shown ability to play midfield and we have a plethora of third talls!! Stephenson we would look at I feel coffield as well, would like your opinion on where he sits atm too, I really like him at our pick

Fogarty isn't slow, he isn't any less proven then say a Cam Rayner. Fogarty plays taller than just a 3rd tall I could see him as a Jarryd Roughead style forward or Hurley type defender if not a bullocking inside mid.

Coffield is a class act but with Roberton already at half back im not sure he would be a priority but he can just as easily play up forward if needed or just slot on a wing.

Haileybury with 6 expected to go in 1st/2nd round is a fair effort. 3 last year and 3 expected for next year as well, could be 12 drafted in 3 years.

6 of the 12 were there from year 7 so I doubt they were on scholarships.
Half and half isnt a bad ratio.

Doesn't matter what year they start - they can still be on scholarships ;)

Also funny to see the private schools fighting over kids in Yr 6 for them to come in Yr 7...

Brayshaw family all went through haileybury, not scholarships.
Constable same as above.
Ross was a tennis player turn footy player who developed in the schools system.
Kings and riorden started at year 7 and are not on scholarships.

The other 6 started year 9/10 so you would expect them to be on scholarships.

Been a pretty successful build considering how weak they were only a couple of years ago.

Im a big fan of the APS/ AGSV and think the scholarships are essential in being able to buuld their football programs. They are right up there in terms of professionalism and preparing boys for the afl system and life outside of football. So being able to offer that to kids who generally wouldnt be able to afford that luxury of getting a top education is a massive tick in my book. Its a win win scenario, the school can build/enhance the reputation/ program and these kids get the chance to get a great education and give them selves the best opportunity to succeed.

I've got LDU, Brayshaw, Constable, Ross and Clavarino as their likely draftees (in that order). Who is the one missing?

Bonar is also at haileybury.

Public schools still hold a large number of potential draftees its just the best are usually offered an opportunity at a private school, not all of them take it but a lot do.

Right - didn't even occur to me that he'd be in the 1st/2nd round conversation. Based on watching him rack up 16 possessions, at 61% effctiveness and kick a goal.

Gus Styles (played two Champs games for Metro) in the same game for Sandy had 18 at 100% effectiveness including half a dozen elite kicks on his non-preferred, also kick one goal and got BOG. Check Matt Balmer's review on AFL Draft Central.

No one has mentioned his name in any of these conversations so I can't see Bonar going ahead of Styles. He was miles ahead of Bonar and has far more runs on the board. If Styles doesn't get picked up until 4th round, Bonar won't either.

Or you know he can just look on here for what I said about him ;)
