I think the only people who object to this humour are those who are a little too close to the bogan stereotype that kath and kim play so well.

Most of the people that I know who like it also find 'Funniest Home Videos' and 'World's Craziest [insert whatever]' funny.

I'm not a huge Kath and Kim fan but I watched the telemovie, there are a few laughs but I can see that some of the gags are a bit old.

Barry Humphries' role - interesting.

I wonder why they film it at Southland though but call it Fountain Gate? Surely they should use the real Fountain Gate!

They don't just film it at Southland, they film some of it at Fountain Gate and sometimes at Highpoint. The reason they say Fountain Gate, is because they live in 'Fountain Lakes'. A few of the carpark shots and foodcourt bits were Fountain Gate.

As for the show, I loved it when Sharon ripped the clothes off the stripper and chased him out the door!

Also when Kim pushed the plasma off the table, and the computer and yelled at Kellie 'I can see your pash rash from here ya mole'

It was decent enough to pass some time, and was funny at times too
It got massive ratings and great reviews and i wouldnt mind seeing it again a bit down the track.
The show obviously has a target audience of women, and they love it
Every Female ive talked to about Kath and Kim absoultely love the show
yet only a few men like it.

Yeah, I happen to belong to one such forum (a Netball forum ) and pretty much every single one on there absolutely loves the show and can't get enough of it. Personally, I think it's okay, but no great loss if I miss it.

I just keep thinking bogan humour has been done before. Or even smart toorak tart humour for that matter. Can't laugh at pash rash anymore. Or tight bogan tights either. Or bad makeup.

I'm more of a Blackadder, Red Dwarf or anything that's actually remotely funny kind of guy myself. The only thing Kath and Kim evoked in me was disgust.
