I am not reading most of this thread but I understand there has been lots of bickering and moronic arguing (based off the mod posts/warnings) but people do realise that this role is as much for her own development as it is anything else yeah? She isn't walking straight in and taking training or anything or control on match day... clearly she is there to learn and contribute where she can, and obviously as she grows into it the contributions will also increase - it is basically an apprenticeship, does my head in how people can get so dirty on it, particuarly given that basically everyone here has ZERO idea what it takes or what goes on behind the 4 walls

Happy to see what comes of it, good human, articulates her thoughts well and i can see no negatives personally - this site itself is a great example that someones gender doesn't determine their footy brain/knowledge

Heaven forbid people have a different opinion

I think it's important to note that there's also been a hell of a lot of supportive and enthusiastic comments on this thread - the majority of posts from what I can see.

Despite the hysteria from the Herald Sun title I have no issue with Daisy being denied access to change rooms by opposition clubs.
She may be a footy pundit with Channel 7 but she is employed by us and that stance is fair game imo.

Think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone who disagrees

Yes she has a media job, but she's also employed in an assistant coaching capacity within the league - honestly, I'm surprised there was even the notion put forward of her going into an opposition's team rooms either before or after games as it just seems to be putting her in an awkward position

And that this has now become a story just brings unnecessary attention to things - I'm more than happy to see her in her media gig, but surely there's someone else who's available to venture into the teams change rooms

Take it as a compliment that if she has no idea about football she would be allowed everywhere
She obviously has a strong knowledge

They obviously feel threatened, but then again, has an active member of a coaching team ever been in an opposition's changerooms before?

I don’t believe so
Comparing her to Bartel and Darcy are irrelevant IMO
Yes they work at clubs but they aren’t apart of the coaching side of it

I think it's an absolutely fair comparison. And I see a clear double standard operating here. Bartel and Darcy are long-time players who remain well and truly connected to detailed analysis of the game. So I believe anything that Daisy is supposedly likely to be able to pick up about opposition set-ups and strategies is also going to be apparent to them.

But I guess they're the kind of 'good blokes' who would never seek to use that information to win an advantage for their own club, whether they're specifically employed in the footy department or not. Unlike the GFC and Daisy Pearce.
