Thats because you, like i am, are bias. Majority of Carlton supporters will say the same as you have, or say in another three years look out.
Yeah, you hate him, because who he plays for, If we did take him and the pies took Murpf, you would most likely hate Murph..
Dale would have done me just fine.

The difference is Murphy was the standout junior in 05, Thomas was considered quite a way behind him. At this point there is little behind the players, Thomas has improved at a greater rate of knots than Murphy in the AFL system.
Go away you colonwood troll ...you ain't fooling anyone feral .![]()
sure, thomas looks flashier and to many better, but last year murph copped a heavy tag as he was our best mid week in week out. thomas just gets to run free along the wing and snap goals. both good players but im happy with murph

The 50 year old loser again is rambling on posting purely subjective crap.Thomas is still a ways behind Murphy..you pies ferals tend to overrate EVERY player on your list .
Thomas likes to lairrize whereas Murphy is the naturally gifted footballer with much better skills .
That sidestep and pass to Fev last night by Murphy was unbelievable. I have never really seen Thomas do that. I think Murphy is better now.

Thomas is a better overhead mark, also a better proven goalkicker. The fact of the matter is Thomas has already won games off his own boot, Murphy hasn't.
Thomas is a HFF, Murphy is a midfielder.
Thomas averages 15.1 disposals per game, Murphy 18.3 disposals per game.
What does all this tell us about Murphy & Thomas?
You sure you're not a Collingwood supporter? This kid is sensational. And I am now wishing we took him instead of Murphy.
Dont get me wrong, I love Murph, and I know what patential he has, but with all biasism aside, Thomas is good 'now', and he aint going to stop.
That Murphy's statistics as a midfielder aren't particulary superior to Thomas, who in your words is a HFF, who spends quite a lot of time out of the midfield. A lot of Carlton fans use the excuse, Murphy has the number 1 tag when defending him, on the contray, if DT played more time in the midfield he would be getting numbers superior to Murphy.
Another common misconception is DT is cream on the cake, he is doing well because he plays for a premiership contender. It's a lot harder to gets kicks on a HFF line than in the middle, where Murphy spends the majority of his game.
I'm not going to expect you to favor Thomas but most neutrals would.

Thomas is a good player, don't get me wrong, but he has peaked much before Murphy which I see as his biggest problem. Murphy is much better at finding the ball and is more, what's the word... magical than Dale.

So if this is the case, why doesn't DT spend time in the midfield?
Anyone who can get 20+ touches a game, shouldn't they be played further up the ground. And it's not like Collingwood have the greatest midfield going around.
Good point HBF, but you just have to look at today's performance from Medhurst- 24 possessions, 14 marks and 3 goals playing on a HFF.
It's really not about how many possessions you get, it's where you get them and how damaging you can be when you do get them.
Well that's true, but the post I was refering to was saying that DT could get 20+ touches in the midfield.
I really think comparisons between the 2 are meaningless, as both Carlton and Collingwood are happy having both guys on their lists.
