I think it was the first quarter when u saw him at a stoppage hands on knees sucking in the big ones, and I thought gee daisy is stuffed but showed what a tough gut runner he is by still looking just about the quickest man on the field. I hate to say it but mass respect to Dale.

After 2 years of garbage hard to see how the Hawks are carrying arrogance around still. Still living a fools paradise

Daisy seems to be a soft spot for a lot of Hawthorn supporters, they maintain a delusional stand that not only is Ellis better than Daisy but that Daisy is a squib. Both can play but any neutral knows which one is playing better.

I usually don't have much time for Thomas, but he played brilliantly yesterday. Have a lot more respect for him now, easily BOG for Collingwood.

he played very well yesterday.. but no one has mentioned his passing off to the youngster blair near 3Q time. shouldve taken the pressure kick himself. that was soft IMO. especially after that arsey torp gone wrong- gone right in the first quarter.

You talking about that Blair kick 30m out directly in front?

He has never ever been 'soft'. People just see a skinny, running blonde bloke and assume he is soft. He has been playing well all year but yeah obviously you gain a lot more respect if you can do it in a GF.

Usually a bit of a Daisy basher, but his game really took him to a new level in my books. Him and Maxwell (another player I've never been fond of) really kept the Pies in it; they just gave it their all, every minute of the game.

He still needs to get a haircut, though. :thumbsu:

As I've said many a time this year...Daisy has really stepped up, used to shirk the hard stuff, now he seems to love it. All class.

I appreciate the compliments of a Collingwood player from a Saints fan but he never shirked it ever. Sure he has improved a lot but courage was in his game from day dot. The ability to win the hard ball consistently has improved massively, but the will to win it has always been there. Don't confuse flashiness and inconsistency with being soft.

i never used to rate him....but boy did he prove me wrong, not just in the grand final but over the whole year he has been a standout. good skills, hard at it and still has that something extra that makes him a little bit better than alot of others.

the worst thing is he is only getting better ahha
