where is it? I liked him on kerr saturday just won't give up the kid, but I still feel he needs to be using is leap in the forward line. I personally would play him in the forward pocket and tell him to leap for everything just place your crumbers at the fall, it's not rocket science just simple football you use a player's strengths to the teams advantage

80% Midfield.

I prefer Davis, Medhurst, Egan and Didak as our small forward options.

I don't rate his kicking or ball winning ability for midfield. He showed as a youngster that he wasn't a big posi winner either. I actually don't class him as small as he can play tall, his greatest asset is his leap and he can't use that in the guts for mine.

I think he will be a good midfielder/winger, and his current best position is the wing with little time down forward. For me his key assets are:
- his instinctive flair to play on and take players on when he has space.
- his clean hands off the deck and his one-move plays, for example the pick up off the ground in congestion and in the same motion handballing it out of traffic to a running teammate.
- his 2nd efforts and tackling

Now I think the first 2 facets of his game would be limited in the forward line. As far as his kicking goes he is sporadic with both field passing and goal kicking but he is really good at spotting up leading targets, this is where he could be best used as wingman/attacking mid or even a high HFF. As far as his ball winning ability goes, if you give him game time on the wings and the mid he will learn how to get the ball, add to this as he develops his body he will be able to get more contested possesions and clearences as when he is in and under he is actually pretty good.

Against Kangaroos he had a one quarter game and still managed 20 possesions.

Very good points, thats what you mods are here for haha

I like him in the forward line for a number of reasons;

His chasing and tackling would create heaps of pressure on opposition running backmen,

Seems to have a fantastic goal sense at ground level - see TAC grannie, and is very unpredictable when he gets his hands on the pill.

Great vertical leap, and pretty strong overhead mark. Could also take pack marks, maybe mark of the year :p

Won't run himself into the ground as much as in the midfield.

Also I forgot to add the fact we lack players in the midfield that really take the game on. As far as small forwards go we have Didak, Davis, Egan (who could also end up on a wing/midfield if things go well), Medhurst who all have a ton of flair.

This is true and thats why Daisy is in the midfield more. 100% agree.

Maybe when Didak comes back he and Thomas can swap roles during the game depending on the situation. I reckon Dids would be more than handy in the midfield

i would have 70% forward and 30% mid

The thing is about Thomas he wants to improve these types of things. I have heard he worked his guts out over the summer and it should come together over the next few seasons. About playing midfeild and forward it should be more midfeild at this stage of his career because we need him there in years to come. Although we he does go into the forward line he changes it up.

after this season he needs to do nothing except eat and get some weight on him becasue he gets knock off the ball to easily and he won't just make highlight reels he will be the highlight of the game

Where was Bucks' best position when he started? FB? HBF? They were all tried, before the dominance began. Compliment to Thomas that we also on threads have him everywhere from HBF to wing/mid/ to HFF/ FP.

Who cares. Thomas is special (as Bruce would say), and will find his own special place in time. Meanwhile, wherever he plays, he is adding the bon to the team's fire.

cameron bruce is overated sure he can play about anywhere on the ground except ruck but you won't players week in week out playing in the same postition not playing a different position every 5 seconds like bruce does casue melbourne are that crap every where they want bruce filling in every gap
