The problem for Romo is that the rest of the team was not stepping up and he was required to pull something out all the time. Once Garrett came in, the team were on notice and lifted and things were a little easier for Kitna and McGee.

It's a good team if they are all focused and on the same page, and a decent QB like Romo would have a field day in those circumstances, not merely scramble against opposition depth players.

I think Kitna and McGee did very well with the opportunities they had this year, but I'm not about to blame our poor start on Romo.

tony romo is a chocker. mcgee is clutch. romo has had his chances and he failed.
Sorry but there is so much wrong with this post. A complete lack of context for one.

ODN has already covered most of it.

Hard to read anything from yesterday's game. Look at the talent Philly rested. If Vick, Jackson et al were playing do you really think that McGee's offensive production would have been enough to win the game? I don't. 7 points is all McGee had to his name against a Philly defence who has been struggling to curtail the pass lately. The other 7 points came from a defensive turnover.

Romo is an premium quarterback. Can't wait to have him up and running at the start of next season.

Hmmm dont know how you have come up with this after only 2 career starts. Yes McGee looked good when he was given the opportunity but Romo is a Pro Bowl QB and we should be thankful we have McGee as an understudy to Romo as he is a great insurance policy for us and we need to keep him.

I admit i am not the biggest Romo fan and have seen MANY failings and dissapointments while he has been at the helm for us but right now Romo is not going anywhere and our future for the next 2-3 years at least is in his hands and cant wait to see an improvement next year in our OL and with time in the pocket Romo can seriously hurt anyone. We have bigger issues to address than QB right now.

I recommend taking a look at this analysis of the o-line from 'Blogging the Boys'.
Uses the ProFootballFocus data (which I believe is no longer free) and gives ratings on pass, run, penalty, overall and compares positions around the league.
Simple to understand too, just think green is good and red is bad.

Really hoping we land Peterson this morning! My gut feel is though we will have to trade up to get him as i cant see him slipping down to our pick at No.9.

If we don't land him we may draft down and get more later picks IMO as i don't see a worthy OT to take at 9. Will be interesting to see which way we go though.

Heard that Huf has been training with the boys and we will pick him up in FA. Ball will probably move to CB and that would make 5 CB's on our roster atm, so CB probably wasn't needed. OL is a good choice. We now have Free and Smith at T, both under 30. Suddenly we look a little younger on the OL, and if Smith is any good, with a bit of talent to last a while.

Think we will take a DE in the 2nd. Need OG as well, i think.

Will be interesting.

Tried to record the draft on IQ while at work today and the signal failed. Annoyed. I enjoy the lead up and analysis of it all.

Anybody got some insight into who we picked up and how they will fit into the team and when?
Will give a run down tomorrow ODN after the next few rounds with an In depth review! ;) :D

You picked up the best OL prospect of the draft.=, Tyron Smith.

Good balance of need and BPA. Will be a walk in starter.

3rd round RB
Apprently good blocker(The knock on Jones and Choice) Hearing he is a good reciever as well.
Thought we should of gone for a OG

General perception on Cowboys forums is that we went slightly early on our second and third picks but that they are solid, good honest types, not flashy but likely to come in and do a job.

I'm rapt with Tyron though. About time Tony got some decent protection. Tyron looks ready to go straight up and will instantly improve the offense. Looks like he creates nice gaps for the running backs too.

Pissed that Prince Amukumara slid all the way to those filthy Giants though.

Carter was not really a reach, I was expecting him to go mid-2nd. If he hadn't done his ACL, he'd have been an almost certain 1st round pick.

I do have questions about his ability to play in a 3-4 as he has some troubles in traffic, but I personally think that he is the best of the Cowboy's first 3 picks

I really wanted fairley. i still think the cowboys should trade for reggie bush. our rb's suck.
I disagree. Absolutely nothing wrong with Felix Jones. Tashard Choice is a handy backup and our depth in the position is so much that fans are talking about trading Marion Barber who was all the rage only a matter of a couple of seasons back.
