don't really post in this forum often but anyway.

would be gutting if we don't make it from here. obviously beat detriot and giants in the two weeks before the buc's then we're in the playoffs...

do you guys reckon romo will ever step up when it counts??

his overall season stats look good, and his career stats are pretty solid, but i'd love to see his stats when the heat is on and the team needs something?? i'd be willing to bet they'd be pretty ordinary.

but if he can step up, and hopefully he does, the guys will be very hard to beat...

then there is our defence... take out demarcus ware and it's very ordinary (it still is anyone).

it has been good but i wouldn't say he's doing it when it counts. got playoffs to come (hopefully).

i guess it's just been a very frustrating few years for the cowboys, all stretching back to 06/07 when it all feel apart and finished with that infamous field goal snap.

it's not all entirely romo's fault, with barber going out of bounds to stop the clock and block field goals.

maybe as a group mentally they are not strong enough to deal with tight positions.

When Romo wins big games, they weren't big games. When Romo loses big games, they were big games./ Honestly, our defense has been the biggest issue the past few years. They seem to get off scott free when compared to our QB

Um, Barber plays for Chicago now. He did stupidly go out of bounds last week and cost the Bears the game, but doesn't affect us.

Were you referring to Tashard Choice doing something similar earlier in the year?

I still stand by by view that Romo has barely put a foot wrong since the Detroit game. People just habitually blame him by default now, and it's really quite sad. "Cowboys lost again... hahahaha Romo!". The botched hold against the Seahawks was brutal, but it was years ago now. Utterly irrelevant now.

If you want someone to blame for our last few losses - point the finger at our seriously underperforming secondary.

nope got my wires crossed after a few drinks.

was trying to think of the arizona game. it was the timeout called when lining up for the kick.

once again not romo's fault, but it's just shit like this that constantly happens to the cowboys. stupid stuff that constantly costs this team big games.

we beat arizona and giants and were' already in the playoffs.

agreed. defence as a whole has been ordinary. can you imagine it without ware.

probably a bit harsh on romo last night. had a few drinks and was watching a replay of giants-pats super bowl and thinking how good it would to be there.

but even still there is question marks on the team as a whole, and on romo. you've got the botched snap v seattle, failed drive topped off with an interception v giants a year later, the whole team falling apart in 2008 culminating in that disaster v philly.

i wouldn't call the 2009 playoffs a choke. vikings were a good team, but it would've been nice to fire some sort of shot.

and when you start getting the jitters again over those two weeks this year, it's a pretty disheartening feeling.

it probably won't matter this season cause the packers look so dominant, and only 49ers defence can stop them... but it would be nice go out not having stupid mistakes cost us again... if for nothing else to get the part out of our game sorted for when we might be able to make a serious shot at the title over the next couple of years.

Just lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. They are very, very beatable.

IF we make the playoffs, we could shake things up a bit. Will be hard without DeMarco Murray though. We are a much better team with him there.

big win for chiefs no doubt but i won't be holding my breath waiting for the packers offence to misfire again this season.

agreed murray looks an absolute gun.

just did a quick run through our wiki pages from 2006 season to now.

we are 57-41, but 20-25 in games decided by 7 points or less. 37-16 in games decided by 8 or more.

rectify that situation and our boys go from boy a team that is there and there abouts, to a genuine contending team.

fwiw, it's been tough cause giants and eagles have been pretty strong over the last half decade or so. and on a sidenote i've never been a fan of the division system. i just think it's stupid that nearly 40% of your games are played against 9% of your possible opponents... but that's my opinion, and it's been that way for years and it's not going to change (it is sensational for rivalries admittedly)

Stand by for a shocking end to the season.

I have a feeling the G Men will blow us out on their home turf and take the division and a playoff spot.

Eli and Co. to make a mess of our secondary and he will throw for over 350yds easily.

Gee i would love to be wrong but this game has disappointment written all over it for us. Romo better be quick because that pass rush is going to maul him again with our O line below standard and McGee maybe in by the half with Romo taking some big hits. :(

Yes it hurt to write that but the head is over ruling the heart right now. :(

Given we HAVE to win now, I'm pencilling us in for a 35-10 loss....

Good to see both teams supporters are confident. :D

In all seriousness good luck and may the best team win and as long as flags and BS calls do not influence the result i will take any result on the chin. :thumbsu:

Trying to console myself by believing that we tanked vs Philly.

Both the Cowboys and Giants are capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory on any given day. Who knows what will happen next week.

Honestly don't think I'll be that gutted if we lose. We won't do anything meaningful in the playoffs. Need to address our secondary in the off-season. Improving our draft position mightn't be the worst thing in the world.

Any updates on Romo's hand?

Tanked nothing.

I like the 'we made the decision to keep Romo out' claim, when his hand was swollen to the size of the football.
Well there is tanked, and then there is taking risks in a game that doesn't affect playoff contention at all.

Felix Jones was also given a light day.

But if you need to believe that the Cowboys gave it 110 percent and fell short against the Philadelphia Eagles juggernaut, go for it. :thumbsu:

Felix Jones was injured. Probably not going to take a heavy load either way.

Did you pull any of your defensive starters? Seem to remember Ware playing the whole game.

BTW, considering we smashed you the first time, its not unreasonable to think we could smash you the second time.

Jerry Jones to Continue Serving as GM

When Jerry Jones purchased the Cowboys in 1989, he installed himself as the team’s G.M. The move, coming years before the Internet and at a time when sports talk radio hadn’t become anything close to what it now is, generated not much criticism or buzz. Besides, the abrupt firing of the only coach in franchise history — Tom Landry — and the hiring of former University of Miami coach Jimmy Johnson consumed most of the focus in the wake of the transaction.

Today, no new owner would be able to get away with making himself the team’s G.M. absent any actual NFL experience. Thus, the last of the owners with the ability to pull off the dual-role G.M. gig will be Jerry Jones of the Cowboys.

And Jones doesn’t plan to yield his duties any time soon.

“When I bought the team I said that there’s no way I could make the kind of commitment that I’m making to buy the team . . . and not have the final say relative to the kinds of things that general managers decide,” Jones told KTCK-AM, via John Machota of the Dallas Morning News. “So, I don’t see that at all. What I do see is a better straight line way of making decisions and that has born out over the years. Now we need to win a Super Bowl.”

As Jones approaches his 70th birthday, he also doesn’t see himself retiring. “Well, when you enjoy what you’re doing as much as I do then what are you retiring from?” Jones said. “I understand and I’ve done that. I’ve had that briefcase in my particular case and made calls 17 hours a day. I would probably stop that at some point to do something that I enjoyed more. But as far as running the Cowboys, being involved in the NFL, being involved in sports, I don’t know what I would do relative to what you’d be doing that I enjoy more than what I’m doing. So I don’t see retiring from that.”

Some Cowboys fans surely fear that Jones will never retire, holding power even if/when his health declines. It’s a valid concern, and Jones would be serving the franchise well if he puts a mechanism in place now to ensure that some future version of himself won’t harm the interests of the team by refusing to step aside when the right time to do so arrives.
