I still think Nash and Dirk would have been a better combo. They have made some brave trades to try and get some rings but where do they go from here?

Would they keep the same line up as this year hoping that the team gets used to Kidd?

Stinkhouse is just shit now. Could they trade him and get any value?

Well to be fair Dallas smashed NO in the first half of the first game. Since then though NO has won the 6 quarters by about 50 points.

I think NO will sweep them.

They are finished, their panic trade to get Kidd was stupid and is going to cost them for a while. I can honestly see them missing the playoffs next season.

Spot on!!

That was one of the more knee-jerk reaction trades of recent memory. They've mortgaged their future on the legs of Jason Kidd. Kidd was a superstar back in his day but sadly that day has passed.

With the raping that CP-3 has given them so far in the playoffs,I wonder how bad they still wished they had Devin Harris right now? At least he has a bit of speed and would be a much better matchup than J.Kidd IMO.

I still wonder how much influence Cuban has over that team. He has transformed them into one of the NBA's more successful franchises but I get the feeling that he has too much of a say in playing personnel moves there.

Also if they get swept out I reckon Avery is gone. Apparently he and Mr. Cuban are not the best of friends anymore.

it would have been a perfectly reasonable trade, if they hadn't left it til the eleventh hour

Dirk continues to go to water under pressure, with him in the team they will always be a 50-55 a season team but never go all the way.

Even the year when they had their biggest chance against the Heat, they yet again choked. Time for them to start fresh i reckon.

Look, they aren't good - that much is clear.

But they are facing a team that is custom built to destroy them.

Fact is, CP3 is quite clearly thriving on the playoff atmosphere, and it shouldn't be overlooked.

If Dallas had drawn LA in the first round, and Kobe was dominating them as badly as Paul is, you wouldn't see all this "dallas is finished" talk as much, it would be more about how good Kobe is.

The same should apply to CP3. Simple as that. They're playing against an absolute superstar.

P.s. yes, I have a hard-on for Chris Paul

It would have been a reasonable trade if it was done in 2003.

Devin Harris was a better player than Jason Kidd at the time of the trade - Thorn just played Dallas. In terms of value, the Kidd trade for Dallas was worse than the Gasol trade for Memphis.

Anyone who had actually watched him in NJ this year knew he was done, especially on the defensive end.

Dirk has played excellent in both games, he's getting absolutely no support.

Dallas will win the series, if they bench Jason Kidd and defend Chris Paul with Jason Terry.

Its a simple move, that Avery Johnson wont have the balls to make.

Kidd is washed up. He gets his stats, but damages nobody.

I think they are too CP concious and its hurting the rest of their game. They should defend him one on one with Terry and shut down the others. Why would your double team CP and leave Peja open?

You're half right, but the problem is, if they DON'T double and triple team Paul, he's going to score 50-60 against them, and I say that with no exaggeration.

At the moment, they're letting Paul get 30, then letting West and Peja get 20 a piece. They need to do one of two things:

1. Let Paul get 60 and shut Peja and West out completely.

2. Let Paul/Peja/West score 20 a piece and hope that Howard/Dirk/Kidd can outscore them.

Whichever way you look at it, it ain't easy for Dallas. NOH are a team designed for playoffs.

Sometimes I wonder if you know what is happening outside your bedroom.

People have been going nuts about Paul's performances after just 2 games.

And no one would talk about how good Kobe is, much like nobody is doing it for the pasting that the Lakers are giving Denver....It's expected so no one talks about it.

Sometimes wonder if you're a huge douche, then I realise you're a huge douche and I don't wonder anymore.

People are making this about Dallas, not New Orleans. That was my point. This spanking should be more about how good New Orleans is, and less about how bad Dallas is.

yep you are right Karl. No one is talking about NO....Now go out and spend 3 minutes (IE how long it took me to find 4 articles) and find 4 articles about how Dallas. No one is talking about them outside of this forum. Everyone is loving the Hornets.

Gah. You're missing the point - maybe it's my fault for not explaining it clearly enough to you, but I'm not motivated enough to try and explain it to you more clearly. Sorry champ.

As an aside, did I ever state that 'No one is talking about NO' ? I thought I was clear enough, but alas, it seems to have gone straight over your head.

No lower seed down 2-0 in a playoff series is gone until/unless they drop either Game 3 or 4 at home.

Win your two at home (which is entirely possible for Dallas to do - they look like winning Game 3 at the minute) and it's back to a three game series.

How will New Orleans cope if Dallas do hold serve?

Still a long way to go.

True, but I think it's more the manner in which they failed so epically in Games 1 and 2. Compare them with Phoenix, who were very close to snaring a game, and it looks much different.

They appear to have worked out something though for game 3.

even so, I'd back Dallas to hold both at home ahead of Phoenix.

the Suns aren't that much different/better at home anyway.
