Dirk continues to go to water under pressure, with him in the team they will always be a 50-55 a season team but never go all the way.

Even the year when they had their biggest chance against the Heat, they yet again choked. Time for them to start fresh i reckon.
What's with the Dirk bagging around here lately? One bad series (matched up against S-Jaxx who is just about the ideal Dirk defender) and all of a sudden he's Nick Anderson.

He has a good playoff record and has come up with the goods down the stretch plenty of times for Dallas over the years. Great player.

Like I said, you've missed my point entirely. Finding you an article about Dallas would be entering into an argument I never made.
What was your point then? That you have no idea what you are talking about?

Cos from where I sit your point seemed to be that people were making this about Dallas and not NO......However bar 5-6 people on a basketball forum you seem to be 100% wrong.

Grow up.

Cos from where I sit your point seemed to be that people were making this about Dallas and not NO......However bar 5-6 people on a basketball forum you seem to be 100% wrong.
Funny you say that, considering I'm on that very basketball forum, perhaps I may just have been addressing that 5 or 6 people? Just a chance? Or did you think I was addressing the entire basketball public, as I'm sure they're all scouring the internet for my latest opinion on baketball?

You're a smart guy Borgsta. I say that without a hint of sarcasm, which is why your posting in this thread comes as such a shock to me.

Looks like we might not be seeing Jason Kidd in game 5

Could have broken Pargo's neck if he didn't get his arms down. Classy act by the Mavs fans to clap him off as well

Just one of those things that happens, don't get me wrong it was a terrible foul but im sure it was a spur of the moment thing and as soon as Kidd did that he would have regreted it.

The problem for him is that he was going for the ball with his righthand, whereas he grabbed Pargo's neck with his left. So he can't say he just missed the ball and got him by accident. I'd be surprised if he didn't get a game off.

At full speed that incident looks really violent.

Personally i've been campaigning against Kidd and his constant 'future hall of famer' tag. I don't rate his triple doubles at all. If i had a choice between 2 point guards, both can pass, but one is a great rebounder and a useless shooter and the other a great shooter and a useless rebounder i'd take the shooter without question.

Dallas have stuffed their team (bye bye 1st round draft picks) and Phoenix are not far off that either.

Agree completely re: shooter/rebounder, but Kidd's going into the HOF because he's the second-best ever at running the break, and was also an incredible defender in his prime (that has sure changed!)

^^^ Very funny stuff John.

Fwiw, I have no idea where Dallas go from here. I think they might need to bottom out. Which could be hard given they've lost 2 of their 3 next first-rounders.

We're in a tough spot, we're in the middle and on the way down. Unfortunately it would be stupid to rebuild now because we have a 1 - 2 years left in Kidd. So we have one more season at the very most to have a crack at the premiership, but we've got to do something. We've already gotten rid of our coach. But it's our roster that's letting us down. We need some changes otherwise it's gonna be real tough for the next few seasons. After that well than we can start rebuilding for a few years. And hopefully in 4 - 5 seasons. We're back at the top.

Yeah in other words they are ____ed! trade Dirk for some picks maybe? and rebuild the team around Howard? or maybe keep Howard, Dirk, Bass and maybe Terry and see what they could get for everyone else? Kidd was a bad trade and he is well past his prime and can't keep up with any strong PG's these days, not sure what they should do with him but if he stays the Mavs won't be going far. They have to do something or else they will be stuck in the middle next season, which isn't too bad since they gave up a lot of their picks.
