I just read his piece on the AFL site about Nick Reiwoldt. What should have been a feelgood article about a great player was in fact a sad snipe at Eddie McGuire and Collingwood. I don't understand why anyone would want to detract from a great career by turning a tribute into an expression of prejudice delivered without nuance or subtlety.
I've noticed his if/ then column on the same platform is sycophantic towards some clubs and scathing of others, but have put that down to the difficulty of producing such a juxtaposition each week. There is no such excuse here.
He will receive no more clicks from me on the AFL site.

I thought that gave it some news value, or at least a modicum of substance. And how was it a "snipe"? If it happened, then surely it's within his purview to write about it.

Would you have preferred a "feelgood" puff piece?

Would that have simply been a long list of reasons Riewoldt is fantastic?

Barrett is a dropkick but I'm not sure this particular criticism is warranted.

Whilst (like most journos), he can sometimes miss the mark, I like footy news and he does seem to break stories which many others don't seem to have access too.
I still sit down to watch The Footy Show most Thursday's out of habit, even though it has become absolute garbage but his slot is almost the part I look forward to most as it's the only bit of informative footy news on the show. The others just carry on like pork chops in what has become an insufferable Geelong circle jerk

Fair enough, haven't watched footy show for over 10 years so I can't speak about that. I used to enjoy Access All Areas, until Barrett replaced Lyon. Ruined the show for me.

I think I speak for most, the guy is a tosser. No, he usually misses the mark. Even an idiot gets it right sometimes. Ambulance chasing bottom feeder. The clown of AFL.
