Just heard Brad Hardie talking on 6pr, saying that is Freo have another 80 point loss Drummies job could be in danger, he said that the club held a meeting this week, but I missed what he said the meeting was about.
Does anyone know about it?

i haven't heard anything about a meeting but I would have thought theyt would give Drum a few games.

What I do know is that Brad Hardie does nothing but critisise fremantle. I've never heard him praise them ever I think.

Maybe Brad Hardie is keen on coaching the Dockers? I can't quite work out Brad, he's a Fremantle boy and if the Dockers were around in the 80's definately would of played for them, but since the club doesn't recognise him as a product of Fremantle football he doesn't want to have a bar of them. (Or likes to make everyone think he dislikes the Dockers).

I'm fairly sure It's Drums last year in the 3 year contract so it's make or break for him - but I can't see the club sacking him mid-season.

Lucky I think it was only 60 today

What does Hardie suggest to fix the dockers woes.

Drum in my opinion has done an excellent job in his reign at the dockers. Now if he was totally focused on keeping his job he would have traded all our high draft pics for above average players which may have resulted in a few finals apperances. And of course in 5 years when those young players are coming of age, we can again sit back and say "what if".

But Drum decided not to go down this path.He didnt want the club thinking what if, and as a result he hasnt tasted the success he might have. Thus he will probally loose his job, even though he have set our club up for the next 10 years.

And just when Drum may be going to reap a few minor rewards, Hardie comes out and calls for his head.

Now you have to ask Hardie at this stage what could he do to bring the dockers out of the rut?

Play a few more of the younger players?
Switch the positions around?

All will have very little effect on the teams fortunes. He like Drum or any other coach at the club will all be doing the same thing.Waiting for the young stars to mature.

Schell, shipp,Haselby,Walker,Brown,Pavlich,Black,Hayden and so on need time.

Trading these young players will buy sum shorterm success in place of longterm success.
In my opinion the dockers aim this year should be to win the majority of there home games and start winning more away games.Along with a all out recruitment drive for Des Hedland who is dying to return home.

i recon drummy has done a great job as our coach and as he is only the 2nd coach we have had we can't really compare him to past coaches
and i'm sure this season will be a great one for drummy also they shouldn't really be saying another 80 point loss and he loses his job at this time of the year because he needs a few games to get the new players on a role so half way through the season they ca start saying that his job is on the line if we are losing everygame by 80 and heading for the wooden spoon

Dockers
Please realise I didn't bring this topic up to annoy you, rather it was to draw attention to what fat hardie was inferring, if it was the weagles OK, I would have been shitstirring, but I am not in this case. I really am interested to find out if there was a meeting last week.
Cheers

Heard on 6PR yesterday that Brad Hardie was saying the Dockers won't improve and move up the ladder to the 8 until they get a proven Victorian coach with some experience at coaching at AFL level.

i thought the same of drum
"great coach going for the long run"
untill he STUPIDLY set the club back 2 years by giving away the #8 and #6 draft picks, which are very high, bell is good true, but in 2 years those 2 players combined would have been much better for freo than bell.
he went for succes this year dummy did, and i hope as a partial freo supporter that they sack him, any coach giving away high draft picks is an idiot, look at neesham

Let's face it, Brad Hardie is a tosser. But that's his job, he is paid to say dickhead things that gain attention. No-one really takes anything he says seriously.
As far as Drums performance goes, the longer he is there, the less he impresses me. His apparent lack of accountability is astonishing. The basic concept of 'manning up' is either totally foreign or is ignored completely. Teams get a run on and the team is incapable of stopping it, hence the big losses.

If the pre season is any guide, Fremantle will beat the shit sides, but get thrashed against any team that is half decent. Finish around 12th. Again. <Cue sound effect from 20,000 people whenever McManus gets the ball - groooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaan......>

My son is a docker member.
Last year he met Damien Drum in the rooms at the Gabba. What a great coach you guys have. He actually seem sto have the respect of his players.
Its only the pre season. I wish we had him as our coach.
