We are modern day winners, 4 flags speaks for itself. You guys can enjoy a nice lovely ethical run at 9th again or wait for the competition to be at another low point to win an easy flag again when tassie makes a grand final from 6th or something

Where will the 2022 flag win sit in the pantheon of the 2,000 flags? First final played one of the worst performed top-4 teams in history with a percentage just over 100%. Just scraped in.

PF played the Lions in Melbourne. A week after they’d won their first game at the MCG in a decade.

Grand Final played a Sydney team who had just scraped in over the previously mentioned worst top-4 team almost in history.

It’s hardly a flag victory for the ages.

One good thing it does is boost the credentials of Richmond’s 3 x flags given they beat the Cats in all of their flag years containing majority of the same 2022 players, with many of their superstar players at their peak from 2017-2020 when Richmond beat them.

2022 was a very comprehensive victory for the Cats, but Pies / Lions (in Melb) / Sydney is hardly a challenging collection of finals opponents.
