Absolutely legit question. With all this celebrating freedom we have to look at the consequences and one of those is some people who don't need to will die.
Unnecessary deaths due to covid is absolutely a legit question.

Denial Andrews has a solid lead over Gladys, and a massive lead over Perrottet.

And on the flip side some of the consequences of lockdown can be increased poverty and wealth inequality due to lack of work impacting low income hospitality workers, increased mental health distress presentations to ED due to lack of support staff. And it’s impossible to know which is right option as the inputs are too complex

So you disapprove of the notion of living with Covid, as most European countries are doing, and believe we should continue lockdown indefinitely?

In 2017 there were 1,255 influenza deaths in Australia. We didn't shut down the country for that; we encouraged Australians to get vaccinated against the flu.

The us - which is vaccinated at a similar rate to us is experiencing 2000 deaths a day - with our population size that equates to 157 deaths a day or 57300 deaths a year.

Its not the funking flu ok.

We havnt had covid alpha go through us as well so we have almost zero natural immunity so our figures would be higher.

How dumb would you have to be to depict Sydney with a photo that is so obviously Melbourne that it features a landmark.

"Here's a picture of Melbourne with it's fabulous Sydney Harbour Bridge."

Haven't News Corp outsourced a lot of their subbing and layout overseas? That's probably why.

So do you disapprove opening up at 80%?

I think 90% is more realistic to avoid large casualty waves over stressing the health system*

*i also think anti vaxxers shouldnt be counted in that 90% - if you dont want to take the vaccine fine - but you will be aggressively triaged if you need icu care. If you wish to be an antivaxxer fine - you are registered as such and if you present to a hospital with covid and theres a shortage yours is the very first symptom to be triaged.

Disagree with the 90% but 100% agree about antivaxxers not being included.

Replacing Gladys hasnt resulted in any change to the scoreboard:

The trend of cases for NSW has been going down for the last 6 weeks with Vic powering up in the last few weeks - see the ABC graphs.

A reset will be measuring the way out to opening the borders & Dom has inherited a head start from Gladys.

Australias vaccination rate is going to far surpass the usas. We already are on the same rate of double dose but our single dose is much higher and still increasing.

Was in response to the idiots that cant wait a few months till we reach that level.
With all this self congratulation going on about our vaccination rates you could be forgiven for thinking it was actually a race and that not for the first time Scott was just wrong.

The bit from 1984 where they keep changing history as whatever enemy changes to friend and vice versa springs to mind as far as the liberal party media public fellatio circus goes.
