Just wanted to drop in and say Hanners is an absolute star! Epic game from him today and was probably stiff not to get the Norm (although Okeefe was superb). I rate him as one of the best young mids in the comp and he proved that today! He also seems like a ripper bloke. You've got an absolute beauty on your hands! And Congrats on the flag! The future looks bright!

Massive game, and, despite having big games in the past, I think this game, and his finals series in general, will be a breakout for him. Before, he's played like a talented kid. The last month, and no more so than today, he played like a man. Norm Smith or not, he's very worthy of recognition.

I am, however, heartbroken for the guy that had Watson for Brownlow into Hanners for the NS.... Can't remember who you were, but I feel for you buddy!

Yep, he really lifted in the finals and is one of the major reasons we improved as a team between late in the season and grand final day. Another genuine A grader in our ever improving midfield.

There was a Hawthorn slob sitting near us that I wanted to punch when he yelled, "Get up you Princess" when hanners got clobbered. Instead said to him he must have been a good footballer before he took up ballet! Even his fellow hawks laughed.

Before the announcement I was thinking hanners had it. He was immense, really took his game to another level. The one question mark hanging over him was his kicking, Particularly at goal, tends to miss shots at goal, to see him slot an important goal, along with all the other stuff he's done consistently all year showed that he's got the heart to perform on the big stage. He was everywhere, had clean hands the whole day. Got the ball to mal for the match sealer, he really did it all, was involved in critical passages of play. And that courageous mark. Just an amazing all round performance
