I wonder why neither GC nor Port preferred to deal with North. Their first pick next year should be a good one.

He said he loves the club and happy to stay if a deal can’t be done,What Power?
You guys have a player who wants to leave. You don't have to trade him, but nobody needs to trade him in either.
What power , it’s a player market . Once a player want to leave the club get f@&ked - look at north with jhf - we got ripped with the trade - only lucky that we picked sheezelPort hold the power unfortunately.
Did you just read my post?No really, what's your plan for Lukosius?
He wouldn't have nominated you if he hadn't gotten assurances the deal would be done.
Other than using the Houston trade to get the prerequisite pick(s), the only other option you've got is to ask the AFL permission to trade your F1, yeah?
If JHF came out and said he loved North and if a deal can’t be done he would come back to north, than you guys would had gotten a hell of a lot more than what you gotWhat power , it’s a player market . And your laughing at my suggestion , fmd who giving up pick 2 for HoustonDid you just read my post?
Straight swap pick 2 for Houston, port than will use our 2025 pick for Luko. Luko has nothing to do with Houston. Port mostly always get trades done
Than your club will have to find a way to get 2 first roundersAnd your laughing at my suggestion , fmd who giving up pick 2 for Houston

Probably Carlton’s problem. Doubt north wins the nomination on this one.2 good first rounders (1 being a top 10 draft pick this year
Might have to re look at the deal as that reply was to quick...![]()
Would be huge for you guys if you did, but you are right, a late 20s all Australian level player is unlikely to pick a rebuilding club over likely contender.Probably Carlton’s problem. Doubt north wins the nomination on this one.
Gotchya. Your first post was a bit ambiguous.Did you just read my post?

You have power over Houston, in that you can reject a deal, you don't have any power over anyone else. Stop deluding yourself that a good player wanting to leave is a great position to be in. It sucks. He said he loves the club and happy to stay if a deal can’t be done,
So we either get the deal we want or we keep one of our best players. Houston will not be traded cheaply
2 good first rounders or he stays. He is contracted for 4 more years.
Port win either way here unfortunately. We have the power.
Bolton also has not nominated a club , Only requested to be traded back to WA
While I understand north would like to get him if only to show they can attract quality players it doesn't say much for Dan's appetite for success moving to a club out of contention for money.Regardless of a trade outcome and draft picks etc, just general conversation but
I think north would be crazy not to go for Houston, he would walk in and nearly be the captain (he is in our leadership group), x2 AA, probably the best player of a top 4 club. They have been bottom 4 for how long. Getting young players in with no good experience around them has not worked. Houston would be a huge stepping stone to turning the club around, much like how Brad Ebert coming to port in 2012 helped port improve training standards.
Getting Houston and Darling (and hopefully good young talent) in will improve heaps of players around them
Almost certainlySuspect they are just keeping us in it for leverage to get the most out of Carlton.
Carlton will end up coughing up pick 11 and deal done.
No exactly we hold power to reject deals and keep him. Houston will stay unless we get a good deal that suits port. You have power over Houston, in that you can reject a deal, you don't have any power over anyone else. Stop deluding yourself that a good player wanting to leave is a great position to be in. It sucks.
Which pick /sReally can't see Houston landing at North Melbourne.
No doubt the Roos would be keen on him but I suspect above all else they're being used as a 3rd party to keep Carlton honest at the negotiating table. They have the most to offer out of all Victorian clubs.
I've said it before and I'll probably say it a thousand times over the next few weeks, but if he does leave I feel he ends up at Carlton.
Which pick /s
Has that ever happened?I don't think it makes much difference which club Houston would prefer out of Blues and North if going to VIC is his main priority. Port will just try to get the best deal they can and then go to Houston with this is your option to trade or you can stay
well when you sign a 4 year contract unfortunately those are your optionsHas that ever happened?

Journos have said that’s what we want, no offical club statement that I have seenI swear, anytime on BF a half decent player is up for trade, the host club's supporters are instantly like "2 first rounders pls".
Has Port actually said they're seeking 2 first rounders yet? They may well settle on less than that.
