Dane was excellent tonight - he spoke well overall and humbly reflected upon both the larrikin side of himself as well as the obvious dedication he had towards his career. He wove his main theme of the mateship that he enjoyed and developed along the way throughout his time up there and he didn't feel the need to censor himself, getting a few laughs as a result.

It was all done with absolute respect and I enjoyed it. Champ.

Even down to not wearing the required dress code.
Listening to him talk though you wonder how many players over the years have slipped through the cracks. Players who didn’t have the support within a club when they made mistakes.
He certainly took his second chance and made the most of it.
