That is GOLD, that's why I love Swanny never takes himself or the game to seriously after the siren goes.

Swannie is a stand up comedian. Thank God he stayed at the club when he might have been expected to join the player exodus. He is unique among AFL players. Great game from a great guy.

Swan is just hilarious. Old fashioned, blue collar, no nonsense footballer. Withstood all that 'doesn't get along with Bucks' rubbish over several years, and just gets on with it. I admit to thinking he was past it, after last year, but he's back. Primed now for a good game against the Bombers.

Swanny was never going to leave. He and Bucks are great mates.

just throwing it out there but I actually believe he is extremely underrated as far as his standing in the game goes, and not just as current day but of all time. we always hear Judd and Gary Ablett Jnr being talked about as comparisons to the games all time greats and Top 50 etc of all time. and if you look at Swans record the last 10 years he actually is the most consistent performer of the 3. has won his equal share of awards and club Best and fairest etc and won games of his own boot. the only difference is that he is not " Clean Skinned and perhaps as " flashy as the other two ". Many rate Gary Ablett jnr as perhaps the best of all time. def in the top 10. and yet you look at his brownlow years and AFL PA awards etc that in most the years he won Swan was outright 2nd. so given this and given ablett is touted Top 10 should Swan not be close behind. ?

Yeah Swanny's got Judd covered by the length of the Flemington and then some. I still remember that game in 2010 where we kicked Carlton off the park by 50 something points, Swanny was best on by a mile, and Judd got the three votes for blindly throwing it on the boot and turning it over all day long. Juddy was a gun for the first five years or so of his career, then once the groins went, he was an honest inside mid. Swanny hit his straps in year four or so and has had only the one down season since (last year). Freak.

and it's certainly not a knock on the other two mentioned as both are great players as is swan. the other point to highlight is that Swans first year or two he actually started in the backline. I can't recall Judd or Ablett playing a full season down there.
