He's not injured. He's always paid his opponent no respect, and he's always had poor footskills. As overrated as they come.

Roaming around aimlessly gathering cheap disposals is no longer an option in todays game and he's been left wanting.
Quoted for stupidity.

It's only taken you 6 weeks to quote, and wouldn't you know it, his opponent had 14 1st quarter disposals to end as Essesndon's best player.

He's got a dry, sarcastic sense of humour and is clearly quite intelligent.
I didn't like him at first, but he's definitely growing on me.

The game needs characters. He is unique and may not be for everyone, but very humble and modest - points for that I'd reckon.

Son of God is just another generic Pie hater who posts and gets on his soapbox whenever he gets his chance, nothing to worry about SA.

Yeah, but as countless non/Collingwood posters have pointed out, he often starts slow and was coming off a limited pre season in the context of major wrist surgery.

I will concede, though, that quoting you now is picking low hanging fruit given Swanny's display yesterday. But discounting yesterday, and in the wider context, I'm so sick of morons that underplay Swanny's brilliance. He's not perfect. He's no Gary Ablett Junior. But he remains one of the great players of this era. To say otherwise is either trolling (and I hope for your sake you are) or idiotic.

It's obvious Swan knows how to play the game and has done so consistently to a high level for years. He's a Premiership player, Brownlow Medallist, 5 time All Australian and 3 time B&F winner. In addition, he was voted MVP by the players in 2010 and has numerous media awards. In short he's done it all and been selected as elite by every forum that counts.

Those 14 possessions obviously helped Essendon to the win...

What about four goals as a midfielder?

Seriously, you're embarrassing yourself now.

I love Swanny, laconic, lazy, call him what you like.
You can have all the Varcoe's in the world. Dime a dozen.

Dane Swan is an absolute superstar of the game. Great thread. :thumbsu:

Still a jet. It amazes me just how quick he is from stoppages. A ******, but a great player. Good to watch too.
Funny thing is he isn't overly quick in a straight line, but he's incredibly quick when he runs an arc, and incredibly quick over the first 10, as quick as they come IMO, he has a great set of tyres on those boots.

He could run a bit quicker the other way, but he puts so much into his forward bursts he probably doesn't have the gas, he's an amazing player, one of the very best we'll see.

If you think Stanton impacted on the game in any way you are clearly deluded
Of course he did. His 14 disposal, 1 goal, 1st quarter effort seen Essendon enter the first break with a sizable lead. You're deluded thinking otherwise.

You mean the goal he got from the softest free kick of all time?

Most of his touches were not in damaging spots. Swan, Beams, Sidebottom, Pendlebury and Heppell all had much more influence than him.

Yet the opposition refuse to tag him. Funny that, and one must wonder why when he turns the ball over and his direct opponent keeps influencing the contest.

He runs one way and one way only, made to look good when the Pies are playing well.

Let's not let stats interfere with your rating though.

What's your point?

What you said in the first page of this thread is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.
Which was? I know you're a one-eyed Pies supporter in denial, but even a member of your clubs staff agrees with me.

Sometimes you need to acknowledge when you're wrong, it's a key aspect of personal development.
Sometimes one needs to take into account all aspects of the game and close the stat browser.

What's his DE for this season?

Stats ahahaha, only rivalled by Ablett on stats over the last 7 years or so. But don't let facts get in the way of YOUR story.
