Close to my favourite non-Freo player, such an unlikely looking star. Blistering speed, great goal sense and a big game performer, doesn't get any more or less "cheap 1-2's/stat padders" than any of the other high possession winners in the comp and the myth about his possessions not being "damaging" is absolute rubbish.

Rate him a touch higher than Pendles but I know that's not a common opinion and fair enough too, it's just a preference thing.

Swan in full flight is a step up from Selwood mate! they don't just hand out the awards he's won.
He'll never get as many frees as Selwood though, I think we can all agree on that.

Swan is an out an out champion who doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve. He feels things just as much as anyone but doesn't feel the need to discuss everything that's said about him, he just proves them wrong time and time again. When they were saying he was fat last year, he didn't comment but turned around and had a BOG performance and then rubbed his tummy a couple of times when he kicked goals. Some people "Get Him"...some people don't. Thank God he's not a robot, the game needs more characters like Dane.

Did you even watch the game? How long were they oppossed in the 1st qtr? Did Stanton play back while Swan played forward? Did Stanton interchange when Swan did?

thats funny. I'm just looking at the photo on the back of the Herald Sun today with one Pie player shrugging of FOUR Essendon spuds in a no-contest and charging into score a goal. He looks like a bull to me.
