I've seen him play live several times and he works hard when he doesn't even have the ball. He is an elite player.

Because a B and F is awarded by every club, so it is comparable.

No point chucking in an ANZAC medal when only two clubs get to play for it

Yeah it's an interesting point. I rated Swanny higher until last year where I personally feel Pendles finally overtook him. It still remains that Swan is our best match-winner, and one of our few remaining after the departure of Daisy. Because of his line-breaking and ridiculous ease in which he racks up possessions when he turns it on, and his ability to play forward effectively, he's the best player we have to break the game open. Far ahead of Pendlebury/Cloke who are probably the next two in line.
 
Reaffirmed himself as a top line player. Love the way he goes about it, excuse me while I go spew after just quoting Luke Darcy.

Was the main difference on ANZAC Day, congrats to him.
 
He is an absolute Gun and would have him at Geelong any day. Good to see he is back in good form. Ripper bloke too. I remember in 2010 when he ripped us a new one in the finals. Similar performance to last week.

No idea if this has been discussed in the thread, and it certainly doesn't affect his ability one bit, but I think he looks like a total derro. Honestly, if I saw him in the street, I'd be looking for the cap and handwritten sign asking for loose change.

Regardless of if it's the popular "look" these days or not, a scraggly beard and knuckle tattoos just look off to me.

I believe these allegations of Swanny being a cheap, non-damaging ball magnet were prevalent around 2007 but had since become extinct. He is a creative, high endurance, big-bodied goal-kicking midfielder. Gun.

No it hasnt been discussed in this thread but thanks for pointing out he has tattoos and a scruffy beard.
 
How the hell is swan "as overrated as they come"?

Has all those accolades and is currently a top 10 midfielder.
Only: Ablett, Mitchell, Pendlebury, Selwood, Fyfe, Dangerfield and Griffen currently have any right to be assessed as a better mid in 2014.
