Do I hope Swan turns it around? Of course. Does it look likely right now? Not particularly.

Better defensively but his disposal is so bad. What was with that 3km/h run? Was he eating KFC last night?

When you have so clearly bagged Swan unreasonably I thought a little grace would be in order after today. Clearly not.

It must of hurt a little today seeing Swanny BOG

7 tackles today, a clear improvement defensively:thumbsu:

Oh yeah, it was a much improved effort. He worked hard defensively and had good body language.

Thats the way I like to see him play. Once his disposal picks up he'll be back to his best.

I don't get to watch games much anymore sadly cos I work weekends :( but lucky for me I got on my break, walked down to the local tab and watched the game on foxtel. Anyways watching swan run through the middle in the
3rd quarter (i think) with a paddock ahead of him.. He looks much much more slower that swan on 2010, surely he's carrying a small injury?

I think he has bulked up over preseason. I feel a few of our players have going from how they look.

Since he's in the midfield running all day the gym won't help his aerobic side, IMO he should be put on the Dustin Fletcher diet of no weights at all for a bit and try and lose a couple of kgs lighter (y)

Grow up. You act as if idont want Swan back at his best or something. God damn some of you must be so messed up in the head it's scary.

Swan best on ground? What game were you at?

Funnily enough, Herald sun gave him votes BELOW Harry and Pendles and I think one other.

He was nowhere near BOG. For me, Pendlebury was out and out best on ground, and Sidebottom was actually quite good compared to his first few weeks.

He said in an ABC interview that he's 800g heavier this year than last but his skin folds are down, and that he expects to get better as the year progresses. Don't see what the issues is with his body or fitness. Now his use of the footy is another issue altogether.

Bolded bit made me laugh

BOG or near BOG doesn't really matter he played well on Saturday. ABC radio (Chris Grant I think), AFL site are the ones I checked. They had him BOG. What makes it so hard to admit that or you reckon all these experts who seem to be united in their view that he was in the best few are all wrong?

Point is all you could do was throw in the snide KFC stuff and imply he was running v slowly. Don't care if you are a Pies supporter posters who continually snipe our players can't complain too much if someone like myself has a dip back. Maybe you need to grow up!

In Swan's interview on ABC after the game he said he was 800g up on last years weight and his skin folds are 2% down. He reckons he is in good shape. They asked him about the flack he was getting and he essentially said water off a ducks back

He did mention he and Ben Johnson read the negative stuff on the supporter sites for a laugh which I found interesting. He reckons he couldn't care what the knockers say. So there you go. No doubt Dane has been reading your stuff and laughing himself silly

Why do you care so much then?

Why do you care so much then?

Because I enjoy chewing the fat. I like discussing Collingwood. If someone has a go at my team I like to have a go back. I know all this matters not at all to Swan and the players.

We are all here for our own enjoyment. I read Eds stuff all the time, sometimes he makes good points. Here I believe he is being deliberately belligerent so I am chewing the fat

We were 1 and 2, Swan had 5 tackles for the year, if that doesn't deserve a rocket i'm not sure what does, he was muchh more switched on against port, almost as if someone gave him a rocket.

I loved Swanny's line about the secret weapon - Mick Malthouse is going to give the Anzac Day motivational speech!!! Swan has a deadpan, dry sense of humour, and is actually a pleasant change from the robotic statements from other players.

I criticised what seemed to have been his attitude a few weeks ago, but he often cracks me up with his one liners. A bit of honesty and a good sense of comic timing are always, well usually always, welcome. I'll be glad to say I mis-read his attitude.

The part left out of that article is the pertinent part.

Swanny said he weighs 800 grams more now then what he did last year, but that his skin fold levels are actually down.

That answered the question really.:)

The midfielder also rejected any suggestion he was not on good terms with new coach Nathan Buckley, saying "stupid websites'' had invented the story.
Hahaha, so true.

Laughing himself silly you say?

Considering the main point I was harping on was his lack of defensive pressure after that Carlton game, and then he came out with 7 tackles, I'd say if he read anything I said, he obviously took it on board.
