Already at 90kg, expects to be at 92kg at the start of the season.

Prefers it in the midfield, but happy everywhere.

Recalled a TAC game where he tagged Otten, where he got torn to shreds.

Nominated Phil Davis as the rookie to watch.

Bloody hell, 92kg by the start of the season?! Moving into Shannon Hurn territory. For those who have been attending training - has he retained all of his mobility? If he has, we're looking at some sort of midfield presence here. Wrecking ball for a body, and explosive pace on the outside. Ridiculous.

In a handball game Danger exploded through traffic (someone else mentioned this in the training report) from one end to the other untouched. It actually looked like no one wanted to get in his way. Over the ball too he is a very powerfull young man. I just hope he develops his technique at the contested ball where he isn't quite as suceptable to head injuries.

My brother in law spoke to him at a crows function during pre-season 12 months ago, and he mentioned it in the interview today. The crows staff dont let him in the weights room, or very-very limited weights work, as he would bulk up to much.

He said he puts on muscle mass very easily. Currently 90kg and will probably be 92 kg at end of pre-season. Seeing him at training yesterday he is much leaner, and has lost his puppy-fat

Geez how awkward and stupid were David Wildy's questions to Danger about Cricket , they were totally cringe worthy, he's a footballer not a cricketer so why ask him questions like that

They'll be different types of player, but Otten and Danger (assuming Otto comes back strong) will be huge for us over the next few years; plus Danger/Thommo/Knights/Vince and all of a sudden, we look pretty lethal.

And Danger at 92kg, jesus! He's going to be a beast.

My reading at training is that he's lost absolutely none of his mobility :thumbsu: 92kg at his age and height is just phenominal and he really looks if anything more mobile than he did in 09.

Love the interview. I didn't get to hear it today, I spent the day helping out a friend and missed the radio. Glad it's up though :thumbsu: Delighted to hear he reckons he's up for more of a midfield stint this year, not that it's any surprise.

He'll be the one to watch for us this year without question.

That's what I thought when we saw him before Christmas. MUCH leaner than he was last season.

Yeah, just to clarify what was said before, Danger said that 92kg will be the optimum weight for him so he won't be bulking up any further.

Speaking of which, does anyone give any credence to McDermott's idea of restricting Danger's time in the middle and using him as a burst player to protect him?

It seems to me that McDermott is making a mountain out of a molehill from a single incident, since there was only one time he was really badly knocked in the head, but I Chris has the runs on the board over me in terms of footy knowledge

Yeah I give credence to it. The kid has been hit in the head on multiple occasions due to how he executes an attack on the contest, not just the once, and it is a problem that hasn't been fully rectified from what you hear around the traps. They will need to manage him in this respect for a while, not to the extent that McDermott says though imo.

In relation to this question Ive often thought of how Blighty told roo to settle down, or his body would be finished by 30. Dangerfield may need to pull his head in a bit to avoid a similar scenario. Hopefully he sorts it out with maturity, and that hes still a fierce unit, perhaps not kamakaze.

I wonder if he'll end up developing a reputation as a ball-player who goes in with his head and will start to pick up frees for it like Selwood?

He's been hit in the head several times but I recall it only being a serious hit once, or is that just my poor memory?
Hmmm, Selwood v Dangerfield? Ball 5 metres away. hmmm, get out of their way!!!

One incident for Danger was v Essendon when Ryder took him out as a pretend shepherd (got 1 game for it). I can't think of a dive-head-first-into-the-pack-and-get-knocked-out incident though.

He hasn't been concussed due to his attack on the ball.. Yet. As the above poster mentioned the only time he's been seriously hit was from Ryder in Rnd 11 from memory.
