R: Maric, Thompson, Vince
I/c: Reilly, Edwards, Sellar, Dangerfield
Emerg: Griffin, Davis, Douglas

Good side. Possibly our strongest if Bock was available.

Great changes. Wonder where Burton will be playing? Will we be too tall with him, Rowdy and Kurt in the forward line?

Wont be surprised if Burton is higher up the ground in the CHF posse.

Shame for duggie he had some really good kicks to advantage inside 50 last week and i thought it was one of his best games for the year.

good team though, all but bock bock bocky its probably our best 22.

I don't get this thinking at all. All three of those "talls" are very mobile. Plus when Craig has had a full complement to select from, his preference for our forward line is to have three talls on the field, at the same time. Two in deep and one roaming at centre half forward and beyond.

Yeah I know, I was asking others if they had that opinion. I think it should work well and you'd think that Burton would play more of the roaming forward around the 50 arc with Rowdy and Kurt deep. We'll see come Saturday though I guess :)

They'll be all on the ground at times I suppose, but Burton and Hentschel will probably rotate on and offf the ground for a fair bit of the time.

The beauty of them is that they're 3 totally different types of forwards so they do provide excellent options even if all 3 are on the ground at the same time. :thumbsu:

Burton is the same height as Knights, Thommo and Bernard. He's a great aerialist for his height but he's more than capable at ground level as well.

Tippett more time in the ruck possibly or rowdy in the backline?

the only ruck work tippett will be doing is in the forward 50. we have two ruckman at this stage that are playing pretty good footy considering the experience.

Edit: hard team to mach up on this week, i think carlton will struggle to get the match ups right in the forward 50

Even with Burton and Trent in the same forwardline we don't feel that tall anyway as they are pretty decent on the ground. It is amazing that we have a such a talented and versatile forwardline, if one or two fire we are looking good. If they all fire then the opposition have no chance!

Great to see Danger back as well, not just because it means my Roosters don't have to face him this week but we need him to have a run with us before we head to the finals. We also need him around the packs when you have the likes of Judd lurking.

Personally think we are too tall with Burton Hentschell and Tippett however with Porps in doubt could be the reason? Douglas unlucky but may get a reprieve if Porps doesn't come up.

Playing at Etihad I dont think it will matter, I actually think it will be an advantage to stretch the Carlton defence, which by the way I wish the best of luck too on Saturday because they are going to need it, that is one mencing forwardline they are going to have to stop:D

Good changes :thumbsu:.
I like the potent forward line we have named. All capable of kicking a bag.
Remember Danger also played very well against the blues earlier in the year as a forward. Only his set shots needed improving in the game

Add Moran to that instead of Big Jimmy.:thumbsu:

Yeh thats a fair call however i think Sellar in close skills will be better than morans (just need more games) . Moran is definitely more athletic though.

Gotta give credit to the main man Craig. He could pick a more experienced ruck man in griff, but still elects to go with sellar which is a good choice as it will bring the most out of griff in the long run. I hope we can hold on to griff next year as you can never have enough ruckman on your list.

has the AFC ever had so many ruck's to choose from?? we are in a pretty good position for the future.

Burton & Porplyzia together equate to one tall in my mind. Plus Tippett will probably as a ruck at times. I've always felt we've played too small in the forward line anyway.

Burton is as much a flanker as he is a KPP, IMO he plays his best footy when allowed to float around and do his own thing, running his defender into the ground, not when he has to play as more of a structural piece of a CHF/FF type. 3 talls is by no means too many, for much of the year we were operating with Tippett, Stevens and Walker as our talls and when Walker dropped out, Burton came in, its only since Bock has dropped out that we've gone shorter. At the start of the year we even had Stevens, Hentschel, Walker, with Tippett spending significant amount of time forward as well, so a forward line of Tippett, Hentschel and Burton is by no means too tall, it becomes interesting when/if Bock comes back.

I gather Douglas will be the travelling emergency this week, considering Porps is battling a hip injury. Griffin and Davis have both been named for their SANFL clubs. Nick Gill also makes his long awaited return via North Adelaide's reserves.
