I dont know if it me but i see this week game against the Cats as a danger game.
They played very well last week against the Lions and went down with a fighting spirit.
The players cannot take them lightly otherwise the cats will realise this and do something about it.

No question that this is a danger game. Geelong are due for a win and played well against Brisbane last weekend but we are very good at home so Im confident that we can get up for the win. But we must not take this game lightly!

the team with handbags season is already past its due by date! :p

nah, seriously they do seem due for a win, but we should be should be too strong at home if we play our own style of game and try and not get caught up in their tactics.

Their season depends on it
True, but our season depends on us winning this game. We are still not a certainty for the top 8 as yet.

no one is a certainy at this time of year (except brisbane and a few others of course)

but yeah, we need to keep winning to take the pressure off us and put it on others to keep winning to overtake us inside the eight.

I think (and hope) that our team is a lot more committed now than it was last season and before. Winning this week means we've turned the corner for sure

Last season was the season we needed for the players to get used to Woosha's game plan. This season it is now having it's effect.

2001 season is one that simply never happened. ;)

What tactics would those be?? Geelong has only really played 10/24 quarters of good, intelligent football all season.... 3 against Collingwood and Brisbane and 4 against Melbourne.

Our season isn't over just yet... remember we were 3-6 last year and still managed to finish 9th. Geelong has the ability to win a string of matches in a row when the team's confidence rises, even against the better sides. Unfortunately, we also have the ability to lose a few in a row when the team has a brain melt and forgets how Mark Thompson wants them to play!!

well every team has some sort of game plan coming into a match to shut down the opposition, if you dont have any tactics, them i guess u betta mark this game down as a loss already on your fixture.

i don't know what kind of tactics your team are looking to deploy...be it trying to use your young midfield to go head-to-head in a battle of midfields (which i think you's wont as you will most likely lose out even if bartel, ablett and the rest of the brigade do have talent)...or be it trying to shut down our offence (who was quoted in the newspaper as the most potent attack in the league..i was surprised when i read it, but saw foundation to it when they backed it up with the fact of matera scoring 24 goals to be 2nd on the goal kicking list as well as chick being the effective running forward)

i think you will go with the later option and 'try' and slow our run and 'attempt' to shut down our attack. don't think you will succeed though :D

At this stage of the season, the biggest problem Geelong has is being able to score enough goals to put scoreboard pressure on our opposition. Our defence with Tom Harley back into the side is fine and our midfield with King in the ruck will be competitive, but up forward we have been very weak.... our highest score so far has been 13.13.91 in round one against the Bulldogs. (39 point loss)

Anyway, good luck for the game tomorrow... lets hope it's a high quality match with the mighty Cats getting home in an upset. :D
