If it's true that we're very hot on Angus Brayshaw you'd think we'll only trade one of those picks. Exciting stuff though, at the right price Dangerfield could lift us a good few ladder positions. Sides like St Kilda, Brisbane, WB and even GWS have a good number of players each who are in the top 100 in the comp (Riewoldt, Montagna, Rockliff, Hanley, Libba, Griffen, and so on). We have 1. Think of how good we could be with another.
Agreed and having proven stars at the club will help develop our picks.

Theres no point grabbing 2 inexperienced kids and playing them round 1 because we lack quality ball winners. Danger and Vince are two of my favourite players to watch so would be fappening part 3 for me

Beams to Brisbane
Aish and #4 to Adelaide
Dangerfield to Collingwood

Ahhhh, **** it. I could actually see something like that happening.

I'm willing to take a hit next year if it means we bring in some elite kids. Would rather Petracca and Brayshaw (unlikely as it seems) instead of Dangerfield as we'll be much happier with that one in 8 or 10 years.

Maybe with the very best of players it makes a difference, but all the talk of bringing players in from other clubs to assist with training standards is a bit daft. Everything we've seen in recent years indicates that the people brought in by and large adapt to the way our spuds train, not lift ours spuds up on high. It's the coach and assistants who maintain the standards and hopefully we've got that sorted now.

While I'd like to see us bring in a gun player, it will cost us a lot in terms of picks and cash. If we can't pick someone up for a fair price, I'd rather we built something lasting and didn't throw our good picks away when it seems like we've finally got recruiters who know what they're doing.

Beams is good, but think that's a bit tough on Brisbane. Aish looked very, very good this year in a bad side. Also, Beams wants to go home, so how Collingwood end up with a straight swap for Dangerfield I don't know.

I don't see why Brisbane do that deal, unless they know something about Aish that I don't.

Spend all season cursing the go home factor.
Send one of their best kids home.

It's a lock, Eddie.

If Beams has requested a move to Brisbane on compassionate grounds, there's no way Brisbane will need to part with Aish and pick 4.

Beams is still contracted though so Collingwood still hold the cards. Whilst the Magpies won't want to look like arseholes holding Beams to ransom, they always do what's best for them and aren't going to let him go for nothing. Brisbane may not have to part with Aish but it will likely have to be more than just pick 4 I think.

Can't see it happening, Brisbane are giving up too much, pick 4 and their best youngster.
Can see GC as a viable player in this as it is clear they need experience to help Ablett.

Agreed - unless they're concerned that Aish will try to get home to SA or go to Melbourne at the end of next year for nothing or close to it when his contract expires, it'd be a silly thing to do.

So are we all assuming we get pick 3 for FA compo or have i missed something? Every trade mentioned seems to have pick 2/3 but there is no guarantee even if(when) Frawley leaves we get pick 3. Correct me if I'm wrong but we could get a mid round pick or even end of round pick at the AFL's discretion(which they probably would cause you know... potential with our young kids and all).

Straight off the trade board from yesterday.

I don't think that exists.

Tier 1: after your first round pick
Tier 2: start of the second round
Tier 3: after your second round pick

For the expansion compensation there was a mid round pick available, but not for FA.

Unfortunately my old man has reached his caravan quota so my "source" has no information about Danger or any other trades this season

Hrmmm, that's a shame.

Perhaps we should commission one to be built as a present for Paddy? Nice red and blue paneling...

I've got a really good feeling about this. If Roosy is talking then I sense we're reasonably far into talks with him and or the Crows.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-09-25/roos-happy-to-play-danger-game

Yep. Roos is the master of giving nothing away when he speaks so that he's acknowledged he's interested in making a play of Danger says to me that we're into him in a big way. There seemed to be a bit of "I" haven't spoken to Patrick but that doesn't mean "we" haven't. ;)

Of course, it will likely turn out to be a smokescreen for dealings with other clubs but at least it keeps our eternal optimism for next year alive and well!

I ****ing love this. Once the articles come out on the AFL website and Roos is talking about it, then you know we're in for a chance. **** YES!! :D

Maybe I'm way too optimistic but this has all the smell of everything the club has done in the last year , little pieces of information softening the blow until all of a sudden we announce we got him

Clearly we are into him or someone else in a big way because roosy wouldn't talk about him for no reason

I'm starting to seriously believe in this

The disappointment coming is of your own making then NG
