Clarkson to Adelaide? Is the dream over?

No way Clarkson goes to Adelaide IMO.

He's built Hawthorn to what it is, they're still playing well so his message is obviously still working - don't see him leaving.

Toumpas will be fine. He hasn't even played 20 games yet (about 2/5ths as many as Wines) and has barely strung 5 together in a row because of injury. Give him a big preseason and he'll be set for round 1.

Word on DL is that Danger is not sold on us so the optimism level over there went from a 10 to about a 2 haha. One of the guys said Danger himself was the source.

I'm optimistic about us trading in another big fish this year but this is already getting me annoyed. One minute i'm optimistic then i'm upset again feels like i'm going through PMS.

Hilarious. One person hears a good rumour they all jump on, a bad rumour they all jump off. At least they're consistent.

Jarman selling his story on the radio. Clarkson signed a 5 year deal with the Crows. (or so he reckons. what a crock of shit. lol) - however, if Clarkson goes there, that doesn't sound good for Dangerfield going. booo. haha

I agree, but Bomber Thompson bailed on Geelong while under contract and in the midst of premiership glory, so it's not without precedence

I get the principle, but I think the boards of clubs will still be loathe to trade out big name players. Dangerfield is probably the Crows most popular and marketable player and a key component of their side. If they offload him this year for say #3 and #20 ish instead of getting #10 or so next season, are they going to have riots from Adelaide fans after sacking their coach, pawning off their best player and dropping down the pecking order on the ladder? You'd want to be absolutely confident that the bloke is gone before you make the deal. I get that they're better off taking a deal this trade period and getting closer to his actual value, but are you willing to have that conversation with a thousand toothless screaming Adelaide supporters at the next AGM?
This. There is a lot of shit going on at Adelaide and getting rid of Dangerfield would just make things worse, even if they get good value for him. He's their best and one of their most important players. Personally I think they'd be better off risking the extra year trying to lock him up. They still have a strong list so could work their way up the ladder a bit next year and if that happens staying will be a lot more appealing to him. If they get someone in to coach who isn't a space cadet that'll help massively in keeping him too. They have to back themselves here I think.
However, if we do make a trade for him I'd like to keep one of 2/3. 3 and our 2nd and Tappscott as loose change (not sure he really adds anything to the trade though)?

Bomber didn't go to coach another club as a senior coach though, and he made it clear he was worn out.

Bomber had also made it clear that contract was going to be his last anyway.

Are we cutting our losses on Toumpas already? In any case, that is still effectively a proposal of Picks 2 + 4 for Dangerfield.
No not cutting our losses but Toump isn't rated as a pick 4 anymore, I love the bloke but if you want to get something good to your club then you've got to give up something of value

Kid dominated the SAFL and was sub most of the year for the crows. When he wasn't I thought he was quite good, definitely outclassed with Danger/Sloane in the guts but would be another of those Viv Michie types we could mould into a decent player.

Remember Sydneys 2004-2006 teams were full of guys like that

Don't forget Nic Fosdike. Was the hardest runner in the game when the ball was about to go out of bounds.

I've never seen the kid but he'd have to be amazing for #2 and #3. Way too many eggs in that basket.
