Opinion Danger....

1 week give or take mate. Hes not playing badly and is restricted by a injury but why not play him deep forward?
Now you have been reading my posts ;)

Danger is playing at about 70% at the moment.

He has played well against tags this year, that isn't the issue. Definitely below his best right now, but I simply think he is just out of form and suffers from how high his ceiling is. Was BOG only a few weeks ago against Collingwood. He is good enough to work his way out of a form slump and should never miss unless absolutely necessary and playing him will be at detriment to himself and the team.

My post and the one I quoted are not about Dangerfield's form. It's to do with the physical battering he has copped since round 1, and the level of protection he's been receiving form his teammates (**** all). Both our players and coaches have made mention in the media of needing to provide Dangerfield with more protection at the stoppages, as other teams do with their star players who receive similar amounts of attention. Despite this, we're half way through the season, and it's still happening. Look at the way he was grimmacing after getting tackled against Fremantle. There's playing with niggles, and then there's playing injured. If he's going to continue playing with that level of pain, his teammates need to be doing absolutely everything they can to protect him. Running him into the ground isn't good for him, or the team.

He needs to be played up Forward permanent. It is the coaches responsibility to manage his player, he is not doing that. Coach wants to win at all costs, thus plays him in a position he will get injured in. He is being run into the ground for short term gain.

Coach needs to bite the bullet for the clubs sake, not just for term of his natural life while he coaches.

I get the 'protect danger' thing, but it's bloody hard to do when he belts in to the contest, throws himself at the ball, tries to shake off as man people as he can and the. Jumps into an oncoming tackle ribs first to try and get the ball away cleanly. 90% of the body damage danger takes is because of the way he plays the game.

The other players cant stop that and protect him but the coaches should give him a bit of a run off the ball. Only problem is I think that when Danger is on the fiels he's given license to call some shots.

He certainly does present a unique set of challenges in that regard, but that's not all I mean when I'm talking about giving him support. It's about getting in the face of his tagger, and anybody who decides they're going to slam him into the ground, and roughing them up. Hell, even Danger needs to do it from time to time too. The guy is strong as a bloody ox, but he's a bit too nice. The next time some spud who's sole task is to take him out of the game decides to start getting rough with him, ragdoll the prick. Give them something to worry about the next time they're thinking of doing it.

Meh even an out of form Dangerfield is better than half our list.

Have a look at Mr_Moogle's post, that is a disgrace

I don't think I need to tagged for suggesting Danger is out of form. We have a lot of seniors not producing their best football at the moment. If you've read any of my posts around here you'd know I've lumped about 90% of the blame on the coaching group.

Danger isn't at his best right now. He may well be playing injured and if this is the case, I have even less confidence in our coaches.

If he had broken ribs he wouldn't be playing.

But that doesn't mean he is fit.

You can have a crack in a rib and it not be seen by any scans.

I played 3 games of footy wiht a cracked rib until it got worse and showed up on a subsequent x-ray.

Dangerfields a lot tougher than I ever was, so its not out of the realms.... the symptoms sure point to a cracked rib.
