This thread was started the other day and I stomped on it, assuming it to be DT/SC related. The author has subsequently satisfied me that this is not the case, so the thread is resurrected.

Here's the response I sent to them via PM:

Dangermouse opted to remain in Victoria in 2008 in order to complete his year 12 studies. He spent most of the year playing for the Geelong Falcons in the TAC Cup, though he did manage a handful of games for West Adelaide before the cutoff for player transfers closed. In the end he did manage 2 AFL games late in the year, this was driven more by Adelaide's injury list which led to us having a limited number of options in the forward line. They wanted to see what he was capable of at that level in case he was required to play in the finals.

He's been with Adelaide for almost the entire pre-season (moving over once his school commitments had been completed). He's had a few injuries during the pre-season (whiplash caused by a car accident - he was the passenger in a taxi at the time). Neil Craig gave him a bit of a bake on the radio at one stage, indicating that they weren't happy with the level of training he achieved on his own in 2008. However, he's generally done OK on the training track during the pre-season. He didn't get much of a run in the IAS game, getting cleaned up (concussed) by Graham Johncock barely 30 seconds after setting foot on the field.

Dangermouse is a lightning quick midfielder/flanker, with the ability to play both "inside" and "outside". His biggest drawback is probably his kicking, which is best described as "erratic" - sometimes good, sometimes awful.

I would definitely expect to see Dangermouse get some AFL games this year, but it's hard to predict how many. My guess would be around 10. I don't have him in my best 22 - but how often are the best 22 all available? We have a number of other youngsters all looking to force their way into the side (Andy Otten, Jarrhan Jacky, Jared Petrenko) and he will have to perform better than these guys if he is to be rewarded with an AFL game.

Phil Davis on the other hand is a KP forward, who the Crows will be hoping to develop into their CHF for the next decade. He's spent the entire pre-season with the "restricted" group, recovering from a shoulder injury which saw him miss most of 2008 (and possibly allowed him to fall to the Crows first selection at #10 overall). He's a bit on the skinny side and I wouldn't expect to see him play much AFL in 2009 - 1 or 2 games tops.

Of the 2008 draftees, Shaun McKernan and Rory Sloane would both be more likely to get an AFL game in 2009 (though I wouldn't be betting heavily on either at this stage).

Hope this answers your questions.

His/her English is not the best, but here's the reasoning behind their question:

but like i posted on a vid on youtube bout dangerfield last year and i really thought he was gonna play cos he looked good in his draft video, but yeh didnt play, and i just wanted to no if he would play, or because of adelaide drafting davis and others this year would they be getting the nod b4 him

My essay length post was in response to this expanded effort.

Someone said lol to me in a real conversation the other day. I stared at them in silence for about 30 seconds after.....Judging them

One time SOMEBODY SAID "WOULD'VE" INSTEAD OF "WOULD HAVE" TO ME (IRL) SO I BUILT A NEW LIFE FOR MYSELF ON THE INTERNET WHERE I WOULD UTILISE EXPANSIVE MODERATOR POWERS TO ENSURE THIS NEVER, EVER HAPPENED AGAIN. LOL. 2009

do you also find your capslock a problem when you speak to people on the street?

On topic: Will Ben Rutten get a game this year or will Jacky be taking his spot?
