Centre bounce attendances in our game against Gold Coast:

21- Stanley
16 - Cuthrie
14 - Danger
13 - Narkle
12 - Parfitt
10 - Holmes

I think Danger is pegged for a bit more than 50/50 midfield time. Especially now we already have more than enough marking targets forward: Hawkins, Jezza, Esava, Rohan, etc.

Sav and Rohan??

Hmm.

How’s this thread lookin today?
MT.. hes not injured or carrying one.

That might change. But so far.. the explosive power and burst is back... but its also Rd1 of 23.

GO Catters

It's a long season, ultimately he's going to be judged on September form just like the team. Pretty good start though.

He's been very infrequent. 3 touches in the last quarter is simply not good enough for your best player (supposedly).

If he is injured, he should not be playing given we have ample depth in Narkle and Stephens waiting in the wings. If he's fine, perhaps father time is beginning to catch up.

Barely trained last week with calf issue. Scott confirmed post-game he has a couple of niggles but nothing significant enough to keep him out of games.

Seemed a good chance to rest him today and give Stephens a debut.

Well that is squarely on the coach. He does this crap time and time again.
Stephens probably gets 15 disposals today but more importantly, may have had a greater say in the last quarter.

Ridiculous making him play through that. We have run into trouble for years now with this. Give Stephens the game FFS.
Nobody makes Danger play, except the ego himself. At this stage, if he says he is ok to play after a 10-11 day break, and given that he has a managed day coming up, it's on HIM alone.

It's not on him alone, wtf are you on about? The club medicos and the MC can rule him out of selection if they want. They managed Selwood the week before, which apparently wasn't Joel's call. Should have done the same with Danger.

Then don’t play him ffs. All the talk of resting players so they are good come finals is worthless if a guy has genuine niggles and they still play him anyway. Seriously this is clown school stuff.

The Selwood situation was predetermined a few weeks ago, as is Danger's rest day. He is not medically bad enough to not play, otherwise of course he would not have played.
He plays with soreness every week, so it reads.

The worst was Hawkins back in 2013 with his back. Could have rested the bloke at any point in the season (even had match vision of him failing to bend over to pick up the ball) and as soon as the finals begun, he was rested.

I still maintain his playing weight, which is currently 97kg, is too high.
Not even monster sized mids (6ft'4) like Cripps, Fyfe or Bontempelli are near that playing weight.

If Dangerfield brought his playing weight back down to what it was during his best years, the chances of sustaining niggling soft tissue issues would fade away.

the hawthorn mids during the premiership days got told a rule that always intrigued me.. apparently they lost a KG of playing weight for every year over i think 28 it was??? seemed to help them go ok....
