Danger will choose Geelong. Hasn't stopped other clubs talking to him though. Guessing if the Geelong/Adelaide trade fails (after we match their offer to Danger), other clubs get involved. For Danger, I can see why, after all it's better than going into the draft.so if we match the collywobbles .. what currency they got?

Matching (which can be done after the end of the trade period)
Your inability to have any empathy for Dangerfield the man, rather than Dangerfield the footballer, is astounding. We are all disappointed that Patrick chose to leave - particularly after what we've been through as a club this year. But if this year taught us one thing, it is that balance in life is essential. Family is important. Can't begrudge a guy for putting his priorities in order. It should if you want to see us win another flag at some stage.
Jenny that's correct to a point ....Your inability to have any empathy for Dangerfield the man, rather than Dangerfield the footballer, is astounding. But he DOES so your point is moot. If you had the choice to be with family, you would. My family is the same. Never been an option for us to live in SA - yet we both would in a heart beat.Jenny that's correct to a point ....
What if Dangerfield was in ti could he Australian Cricket side ......does he quit so he can stay in Moggs creek to be with his children?
What if Dangerfield is an Actor .......does he quit his profession because the show he is in requires him to live in Sydney?
What if Dangerfield is 15th best player in the AFC team ......would he quit AFL to go back to Moggs Creek understanding Geelong wouldn't chase him?
The answer is no .....if you work in that chosen profession you work where required
It just so happens he is a great player, in high demand, playing AFL ......and the system allows him those indulgences
I live interstate away from family because career took me interstate .....sometimes you don't have choices
Correct ...just saying Otten doesn't have the same optionsBut he DOES so your point is moot. If you had the choice to be with family, you would. My family is the same. Never been an option for us to live in SA - yet we both would in a heart beat.
So?Correct ...just saying Otten doesn't have the same options
Youre missing the point Jen. It's a soft decision based on opportunism. But he DOES so your point is moot. If you had the choice to be with family, you would. My family is the same. Never been an option for us to live in SA - yet we both would in a heart beat.

Maybe elite sport isn't for him...Your inability to have any empathy for Dangerfield the man, rather than Dangerfield the footballer, is astounding. We're supposed to have empathy for him though... give me a break.Maybe elite sport isn't for him...

Dangerfield left when he knew how much the club needed him and what losing another player would do to the supporter base.
All players have family, not many go back home.
He abandoned us and I don't sympathise with his decision.
**** him, he is now an opposition player. Actually he is worse than that, he's a traitor.

And I assume you've never made one of those in your life before?Youre missing the point Jen. It's a soft decision based on opportunism.
It's even more telling than this. He left a club on the rise for a club in decline. No one can predict flags, but a betting man would have us as a better chance of having one than the Cats over the next 6 years. So what are you playing football for if not to win flags?Dangerfield left when he knew how much the club needed him and what losing another player would do to the supporter base.

I didn't say you had to like it or agree with it.We're supposed to have empathy for him though... give me a break.![]()

It's like me telling you you can never change jobs, you must stay where you are regardless of offers of more money, better conditions or closer to family. Even though you like where you are, you can see the new opportunity would be great for your family, but you can't go because we don't want you to have a life until we've had enough of you, then we'll be happy for the club to delist, discard or trade you to somewhere else whether you want to go or not.
Cut me some slack Jen. The dollars are the same, the chances of success in my chosen profession are greater, my career span is another 6-8 years, my family are a short chopper ride away and are here every second week anyway... plus my sport involves a kind of continuity and team ethos that far exceeds that of most other professions. And I assume you've never made one of those in your life before?

I'm tipping seismic activity down Geelong way will increase substantially next year, coz those headwobbles are going to be huge from the king of moggs.
