He signed a 3 year deal mid year, bought a house in Geelong and got engaged to his girlfriend in Feb, would be unlikely to want to move but he's one of few that majority of Geelong Supporters don't rate overly highly, doesn't rack up possessions and his ball use leaves alot to be desired.
Nothing out of the club has said Murddoch will be involved in a trade for Dangerfield, that's just a rumour started on BigFooty which extends to pretty much every SA player on our list...

Can't see Geelong letting Gregson go after investing 20 games into him, especially when he fills a need in the forward line.
If Murdoch says no ....then nothing Geelong or Adelaide can do

Says alot about Adelaide Fans being unrealistic, that's about it.. Not going to trade away arguably our most promising young player in the middle of a rebuild.
Unrealistic? How is asking for a player of Gregson's caliber in trade for Dangerfield "unrealistic". You probably aren't aware of our history, but the amount of talent we have lost and had peanuts given back is pretty raw deal for a lot of supporters here. We've had enough of clubs like yours thinking 40 pence in the pound is some how fair compensation and us asking for something closer to 80 pence in the pound is us being "unrealistic".

The goodwill for the AFC didn't last long across the border did it. As soon as we don't bend over for a Victorian (finally) we're the bad guys.
Think you'll find most neutral Victorian supporters endorse our right to match the offer and get a good trade with Geelong. It's the clueless bigfooty posters like Mahlepi and Hutchy that give a distorted impression of Victorian sentiments.

Well they will need to find them then won't they?

Jenny: We want 2 first round draft picks
Geelong: We don't have them.
Jenny: Okay then, one will be fine.
How would you know what I'd say?

I want two first round picks (this year and next years first will suffice) and a quality young player, make it happen.

OK how do we rate the SA/NT players at Geelong?

Assign a pick value/round...

I'd say Cockatoo, Motlop…round 1

Stanley, Gregson…round 2

Menzel (hard to value talent v durability), Murdoch…late 2nd

Gore…3rd

Bates, McCarthy, Read, Mackie, GHS…late pick otherwise unused.

Patrick Dangerfield free agency move to Geelong not so simple as Cats and Crows remain far apart

ADELAIDE’S hopes of scoring two first-round draft picks for free-agent midfielder Patrick Dangerfield are fading.

The Dangerfield trade will be subject to many prospective plays. It is possible Adelaide and Geelong — with AFL approval — could add other draft picks and players to a subsidiary deal.

This could lead to Adelaide and Geelong swapping first-round draft picks and players such as South Australian midfielder Jordan Murdoch from Geelong to Adelaide for Victorian midfielder Matt Crouch who is out of contract at West Lakes.

Can I just say this. Motlop, cockatoo, Gregson, these guys are untouchable, all under contract and are happy where they are. Now Adelaide are well within their rights to try and get the best possible deal for themselves, unfortunately for you guys whatever it is will be not great value considering you'll be losing Dangerfield.

Fair call. These types of trades typically involve the swapping if picks only. This should be no different. Very clever by the cats to get them all signed up quickly pending Dangers announcement. In your opinion, what is the general feeling of what the Cats will need to give up to complete the deal ?

Excellent point. Geelong have been fair and reasonable at the trade table over the years. This one shouldn't be too different
Correct ......but does anyone honestly think Rucci has ANY KNOWLEDGE of the trade discussions ......zilch, none, zero . zero

Ooooh thats right ....it's an opinion piece ....in that way accuracy doesn't count

We know they're untouchable ......the realists here understand in a rebuild you won't give your young stars up .....if they're on a contract they simply say no

M. Crouch for Murdoch? Where do these ******* terrible deals come from? Do people actually think Adelaide wants to make their club worse by going through with these abysmal trades?
We're already weaker, lets make us 3 times weaker while we are at it. Joke of an article
