Come on Sanders, you know as well as I do Worsfold wasn't in the frame. Stop with the rabble rousing ;)
Why do we know that?

Will that be the same as when we never in the frame for all these players we were in for and never landed?

The thing is, it's a bit pathetic to be patting ourselves on the back for getting an "apology" for Essendon when they still got exactly what they want

Wasn't there something said along the lines that there was family in Melbourne or something ?

Worsfold said today he was only ever interested in coaching in Melbourne as the travelling involved for any of the interstate clubs took too much toll on his family/relationship which he had experienced at the WCE. And for that very reason he was NEVER in the frame for our position.

Why would Danger risk the draft with a chace to go to a random club (even more so if Geelong give Carlton Pick 9) when he can join one of at least two Victorian clubs offering him over $1.1m over 6 years and $1.2m over 5 years that also happy to trade for him... ;)

Did he say what Geelong were thinking?

I only heard the bit where he thinks Geelong have offered 1st pick next year
Just to clarify, Dwayne Russell said the crows wanted pick 9 + player because they feel they are in the premiership window now. They don't just want picks. Russell thought that player was cocky, but said Geelong wouldn't do that.

I was talking to my son who lives in Adelaide and he said something about the travel being the reason he wouldn't coach the crows.

Is this true?
Yes, it was something To do with dianetics logistics.

Danny Frawley has also indicated that Adelaide shouldn't match and probably won't due to AFL pressure

I'm sure that Danny's comments have already been torn to shreds, but this theme of suggesting that we shouldn't match is becoming irritating. I'd like to ask all the Victorian 'expert' commentators one question.

If a club isn't going to excercise their rights under the AFL's & AFLPA's negotiated and agreed Restricted Free Agency regime when losing a leaguewide top 5 franchise player who happens to be accepting less than you'd offer instead of taking pick 15 in compo, then when the holy frukc should a club match an offer?

If Buddy was accepting $750k over 5 years from Sydney, should Hawthorn have just copped pick 19. There's no effing way any of the muppets who feel empowered to comment on this scenario would suggest that Hawthorn shouldn't have matched that offer.

I am not suggesting that we tale him back. I just questioning his motivation for leaving. For a player to put himself through such a process suggests that he is busting his gut to get away from us.
I'm not too sure about that. At the moment it's all bravado and posturing from the Geelong camp and Danger's manager who is duty bound to look after his clients best interests. If Geelong do shed their early picks on lesser players to try and force our hand into taking the compo and if we are prepared to burn pick 15 on principle then Danger will potentially be risking the relative unknowns of a draft to get to where he wants to go. This is where he might look at his next best option, which would possibly to move much closer to him and play with a Melbourne team. I'm not sure where a 30 minute car ride from a Melbourne club would put him in terms of driving time from Moggs, but it would be a lot more palatable than staying with us if they are that desperate to be in close proximity to family.

The whole shebang comes down to Dangers reluctance, or otherwise, to go into a draft and whether him and his manager put Geelong on notice with regards to that. We may be holding excellent cards or absolutely nothing.

Was Woosha our main target or was it well established from a long way out that he was not in the running

None of us can say for sure

However if we get Pyke by design or not I do hold great confidence that it will end up being the right appointment

So do we think Geelong will be better next year?
If everyone is telling them they will be top 4 next year then they will be 9th - 14th (like 2015 port Adelaide), if everyone is telling them they will be no good next year then they will be 4th to 8th (like 2015 bulldogs).

So yep, Geelong are a lock for top 2 in 2016.

If (long shot) Danger goes to the ND, and Geelong have traded away #9, and by some luck he's still there at Pick #13, and we choose him, does FA reset, or is it just 2 more years till UFA?

If he was a south Australian playing for an interstate club, then it would re-set and he would be 8 years away from free agency, But since he is a victorian playing for a south Australian club, then he would be unrestricted in 2 years. He is saying he won't set terms so he can sign a 1 year deal, after 1 year he will still be a restricted free agent.
