I just can't see who will make way, given the other blokes returning from injury, unless of course it's a Petrenko for Danger swap this week but i wouldn't like that change of structure.

Maybe Johncock, but i reckon he must stay in now and build form up forward.

Maybe Douglas could go back for one to the Bays, get a full game in the middle, freshen the mind ready for R22?

.

I have questioned Douglas this year ....not his talent but a greater contribution for longer periods of the game.

In Melb I don't get to see many Crows games live .....but I was genuinely impressed with some of Douglas's in close work .......good hands, quick thinker.

Can't see either of Johncock or Douglas making way .........injuries this year have had a habit of opening opportunities up for youngsters .......Petrenko just has to bide time

I think if you watched Douglas' game closely he's playing a defensive role in the forward lines. He is still having a notable impact on the game considering his limited possessions. He's going to be a good player.

Danger is going to be a huge crowd favorite next year!

I agree, can't see any of the established players missing out.

During the week NC seemed to be saying that Dangerfield wouldn't necessarily get back to back games just because they are both in Melbourne, which makes me think that Petrenko might get a look in this week. Although NC has also said after this week's game that the availability of Knights, Vince and Porps in the next two weeks would complicate things as well.

It's a good situation to be in leading into the finals!

Ahh I don't think so...I was sitting near the bench and there didn't seem to be too much commotion in the crowd. However, by the final quarter he was recognised when coming on and off :)

I think I was the only person cheering when he came on for the first time!

Dangerfields body is similar to a very young Nathan Buckley ........strong hips and backside.

He is going to be powerful through the hips and with his speed will be a very difficult customer to stop with a tackle .......and Dangerfield has already shown his desire to standup in the tackle in just his first game

That makes two of us :thumbsu:

Haha, got some very strange looks from some Bombers supporters for cheering him every time he went on or off!

I reckon he is slightly better than 50:50 chance based on normal selection parameters given the game is in Melbourne (not including any school commitments issues. Having said that, he has played footy every week anyway, though Crows would require a few more commitments the day before and day of the game).

One would think Knights would come back in.

Porps less than 50%, and Vince highly unlikely this week.

Knights is a pure midfielder whereas Danger is a forward/mid in this structure. Therefore Danger may stay in until Porps/Vince return for the WB in Adelaide.

So which midfielder goes. Unfortunately for Campbell who has performed well with limited time (limited possessions but good effectiveness and great defensive work), it may be him despite the fact we replace a defensive midfielder (in terms of his role) with a more attacking type. Campbell is only spending 60% TOG on average, and i think Knights, Symes or Reilly could adapt their game for a while to play a defensive role if required for part of the match.

So yes, Danger should stay:thumbsu: but will have to wait until 09 for the home crowd cheer i would think, unless he kicks 3+ this week. Even then, the extra-football considerations would probably see him demoted.
Thanks for that Lefty.
I 100% agree with you on that statment!

I think Campbell will be omited (wont be delisted) and Knights will come in if fit! :thumbsu:

I really noticed that, a first year player in who was able to standup and actually move while being tackled. Certainally, impressed me. Can't wait for a few more seasons to watch him develop. Definitely what the we need!

Are there any other Crows to have kicked a goal with their first in AFL?
Nathan Bock maybe:confused:

Player Match
Randall Bone ** R3, 1992
Peter Vardy R14, 1996
Lucas Herbert R1, 1999
Ben Rutten*** R16, 2003
Nathan Bock** R5, 2004
Patrick Dangerfield R20, 2008

He certainly did look good. Cann't believe how an 18 year old with a body already built like a Sherman tank. It was noticeable after he kicked his goal and others came up to him to congratulate him at half time, the size compared to someone like Reilly or Douglas.

Just imagine next year with another full pre season under his belt.

The thing about the congratulating was that every single player rushed to him to do it too! The kid hasn't spent much time with the boys, and he could have felt a little strange playing with people he doesn't really know but boy oh boy did that let him know how welcome he is!

They may of been introducing themselves.....

Should be a royal commission into Ivan Maric's first kick to gain verification as to whether the ball into the man on the mark counts!;)

That was such an awesome sight. Right on the siren so all the forwards rushed over to him, then the midfielders made it, then the defenders. It was like a wave of support. I'll bet he was emotional as hell even though he didn't show it much.

Ivan also sacrificed 2 lambs and a bull in his honour.

He saw to it personally. :thumbsu:

Thanks for that. I suspect you will get quite a few hits for that vision, but time for my rant against the AFL and their exclusive internet issues.

I missed the game as I am overseas for a little holiday and tried to log onto the site to watch the free video content that I normally get in Australia, even though I am not a bigpond subscriber. So what happens when I click on it? I get redirected to a site for O/S viewers. Now I remember when I was living overseas that I would be able to get game wrap ups etc for free same as you do in Australia but if you wanted to watch full games you had to pay (in pathetic quality and had to continually wait while the slow connection from Telestra would have to stop and think about what it was doing all the time). This was almost fair enough if the quality was there, but after the crap service and value for money in the first year I did not renew. Now what happens? Nothing is free, you get redirected to Aussie Sport TV which is a Bigpond entity and you have to pay to watch anything....

So I have 3 weeks to wait until I can see any of the vision of the game or pre and after match stuff. Apparently Patience is a virtue! :o
