Wondering who everybody thinks the modern day equivalent is? Statistically perhaps a Jack Gunston or Jack Darling?
Gunners currently at 160 games and 311 goals. 3 time premiership player. Can play on the wing or help down back.
Darling 162 games for 299 goals. Having a career best season so far and without the injury, was probably on his way to an AA jumper.

Statistically maybe, but neither really play anything like him.
Darling to a degree has similarities, but Gunston nothing like him.

Fogarty at the Crows somewhat reminds me of Bradshaw.

One of the most underrated players to ever play.

I think his brother could have had a good career to if he got the chances earlier. Kicked a LOT of goals in the lower leagues.

Yeah sorry I meant more statistically. I've never liked directly comparing players because everyone has something that sets them part.
Gunston probably the closest output statistically by the end of his career. Darling perhaps the closest in regards to size, position and goals kicked.

No problem being rated the below the best, he was still a very good footballer. He was always in the shadow of Brown and it's rare for two key forwards in the same team to both be rated as great players. I liked him and he provide

Obviously guys like Lloyd, Tredrea, Riewoldt, Hall, Pavlich, Brown, Richardson, Fevola etc were better for that decade (might be forgetting others) but he's still in a group of very good key forwards like Lucas, O'Loughlin, Gehrig, Neitz, Lynch, Rocca. I'm not saying they are all equal, just that I wouldn't put him in the top tier of key forwards.

He didn't just have big guns, he was a serious big gun on the field.

231 games, 534 goals, 2x premiership player, 3x leading goal kicker (05,06,08), never AA (probably should've been but stiff competition), and could also play competently as a defender.

Where does Bradshaw rank amongst the best forwards between 2000-2009? There is a lot of discussion about Jonathan Brown for instance, who kicked 594 goals in 256 games. I personally rank Bradshaw alongside Brown, and I rate him above a lot of other goal kickers above him due to the fact he played defence a fair bit and had to compete with other key forwards in Brown and Lynch for a large part of his career.

I think big guns Bradshaw is one of the most underrated players in what was a really strong era for big goal kickers.

Jono Brown is still one of the more overrated players in modern football

Bradshaw was a gun could go back or forward.

Which player did the opposition coach usually send their best key back to?

That would be a clear indication of who the coaches rated higher and probably the best way to gauge the better forward.

In the crop below the likes of Hall, Neitz, Fev, N Riewoldt, Pavlich, Franklin, etc

Level with Lucas, Gehrig, Brown, Tredrea, O'Loughlin plus Lloyd and Richo since this is a 2000-2009 thread.

Im sorry - are you saying that Hall and neitz and on a level above Brown, Tredrea, Lloyd and richo?:eek:

He dropped some weight/condition to prolong his career with us. Knees forced that. He was massive at Brissy. Damn good KPD as well.

Still one of the best torps to watch. Mark a bit iffy and not a pressure goal, but a great moment the crowd loved. Boom.

so good, watched that directly behind him, in line with the goals.
