Chicky is genuinely a great bloke always has been, comes from a great hard working family. I think you will find his main gripes with WC is the lack of duty of care for him to help deal with certain injuries he was forced play though at the end of his career and is still battling, and also the cover up of what went on during the tainted era by WC administration. Don't see him blaming anyone else for his addiction which he has battled and defeated by himself.

He also openly says that he loves the Hawks and wishes he never left, is definitely a Hawks man for life.

Not sure if he still does, but he did coach a Malaysian AFL side in Kuala Lumpur for a while.

I met Daniel a few times while he was at Hawthorn and he seemed like a good guy.

He seems very bitter towards how he was treated by WC at the end of his career. Maybe both parties are at fault - who knows ? All we know is the club will move forward and ex-players have to continue their journey themselves.

The Hawthorn past players - headed by John Kennedy junior - have a website and are very proactive in assisting ex-Hawks and making them continue to feel included and assisting those who may have fallen on hard times. I am sure they would have reached out to Daniel and will continue to do so.
