Richmond have an 18 year old kid who plays very good footy from time to time and needs some development.

I suggest people shouldn'y worry about what Aunt Ethel's second cousin twice removed heard at the hairdresser's or what some insipid old bait some trolls are trawling and as the WD advises thake a bex and have a good lie down lovies!!

The rumours are a concern ... but there have been plenty of knobs who do OK.

The bigger concern is the Connors clearly isn't fit enough to play whole games. And he has no commitment to basics - tackling, chasing, manning-up or simple passes. He wants to be a spectacular game breaker all the time. He wants to skip straight to desert without eating his vegetables.

Andy Collins is the ideal bloke to sort him out. If Collins can't get to him then I'd be tempted to cut Connors loose (after another year or two).

I like him. Saw him at Bwendigo and thought he was the player who most looked like he would BENEFIT from a step up in class, rather than be daunted by it. Very dal Santo like in my brief viewings.

Play him in the seniors this year.

With any luck he'll either do well (great) or have a 'mare and then can rightfully be read the riot act over summer as to whether he wants to play footy seriously or just as something to do between Saturday nights...

It's time he gets his act together.

i think the club needs to think about hiring an assistant coach, or perhaps adviser to work with our kids regarding the application needed to take advantage of this great opportunity which stands before them - AFL footy.

we are really starting to have a not so brilliant list of players not putting in the right attitude - meyer, connors, gilmour, mcgrath, polo, limbach and so on - which is wasting away a lot of great potential

perhaps a player like martin pike, who has been off the rails and back would do them some good? or an aaron james, who wasted a lot of ability by never putting in the right work ethic.

That's exactly why we got Craig McCrae on board. Unfortunately it just seems to take some time for it to sink in for some (if it ever does at all). Polo was the same, didn't have the right attitude and was held back in the Coburg reserves for his first season.

I think we do ok compared to other clubs. e.g. Jetta has been suspended to VFL ressies for 2 weeks as well for drunkenness in Hobart last week. Each club has at least one, luckily ours isnt a superstar *Cough*Fev*Cough*Cousins*Cough*. We just have to turn him round.

THats why he was picked in the 50s. He's complete idiot, who clearly doesnt know the volume of the opportunity in front of him. But he has skills so it'd be good to turn him around if we can.

He's a one grab player, hardly ever see him fumble when the ball is on the deck, hits packs with pace and has great vision. Could be a very valuable inside midfielder. But that is offset by poor on field habits ie going for speccys, not chasing and looking to do the brilliant stuff every chance he gets. Also needs to work on fitness and conditioning.

Yer got kicked out of his host house about a month ago and is living shane edwards. Got kicked out because he was cuming home at like 4-5 int he morning smashed and his host family had a enough of him.

Well he was banned from playing for the rest of the season for RichmondFC which snuffed out the small chance he had of getting a debut, I assume they'll stick to that suspension for sure now after the late episode no matter how much we want to "play the kids". For many drinking, drunk, late to training, out after curfew, turning up to games not in A1 condition.

He was put back to the Coburg Ressies again last week for "sleeping in" and missing training. He was out on the piss.

He got kicked out his adopted Melbourne home for a few the above reasons and is now living with Shane Edwards last I heard, which I personally dont want since Shane is all about footy and it'd be shit to see Daniel corrupt him. But hopefully it'll go the other way and Shane will get into his head about common sense.

We can only hope coz Connor's football potential is massive.

my worry is that we have players who could one day develop into our superstar players - but probably won't because our leadership is crap - and don't feel the need to prove themselves as players and people to the senior group.

Yes, I thought if he was good for a period of time he might get that's suspension cancelled but I cant see it happening after last weeks problem. I would be very surprised, even after a blinder if he was chosen to play for us, even going for the ultimate tank.

Connors will be a star, he's got so much talent and at Richmond we will smooth out any rough edges. Compare him to say Clinton Benjamin who was picked before him and played in the same match, who is the better actual player? Connors may need work but he is better than a majority of players picked ahead of him in the draft. Richmond didn't pick Lance Franklin for "attitude" reasons too, I don't know how bad Connors is but to drop to 58 maybe too much emphasis was put on attitude.

Dan will be a very good player when he buckles down. Very happy he's at Tigerland
