doesnt matter how bad he was cannot give a guy 1 game an expect to see what he has to offer the club.
So what if his errors cost us a game makes it easier at end of year for us to get more draft picks an we wont have to trade someone of value to get extra high picks.

Each deserves a few games in a row before any judgements are made.
Even star players struggle in their 1st game back at AFL after not playing for a while.
Nerves play a part, Adjusting to the quicker tempo an faster stronger bodies.

Having said that im not sure gilmore at his best is in our best 22 but he still deserves a decent opportunity.
Give him his 3-5 games an who knows someone may see his athletic ability an think they can turn him into a good player an give us something for him.
Gilmore will prob end up like a mcphee at another club.

To be fair to Harvs, Gilmore was in really good form in the WAFL and his inclusion was warranted. However, after todays performance, it's a closed case. See ya, Happy.

Actually, despite my earlier rant I agree with you, I think the one game is to harsh to make big calls like that. In the end of the day it's that sort of season where players that aren't quite getting the job done can be afforded some benefit with injuries and a squad in development and all. But he better get up to speed soon or his AFL run could be over for good.

It's the bloody AFLs fault. We all know that Gilmore wears the blue boots, and without them he just doesn't have the same impact/confidence. It'sd like the Samson effect, you can't do it to the man, he loses all his power.

So what does the AFL go and do? They say that he can't wear the blue boots becuase of the fact that they are playing the 'blues' and there may be a clash......not even taking into consideration that they wiould be wearing yellow jumpers. So what happens then? the AFl says that he still can't waer them as yellow and blue make green, which is the same colour as the grass, and we can't have a clash with the grass.......seriously AFL give the guy a chance, let him wear his blue booties and he will shine:thumbsu:

had a bad game today, but so did alot of others. and considering it was his 1st back for a long time, it wasn't too bad, he still got the ball. But he better find those blue boots quickly.

How many chances does the guy need to prove he's an absolute crab?

lol i know, im being a bit harsh there. but he is actually an embarrasment. i would rather they put him on the LTI list with a rare degenerative lack of brain functionality injury and elevate van berlo and not have to deal with him any more....... cant wait to the end of the year to see how big a broom harvey sweeps through this year :thumbsu:

Hmmm.. seems like he's not the only embarrassment. Supporters like you should be rounded up and shot. :thumbsu:

But yes, here's hoping he has played his last game.

Gilmore should have retired last year to sort out his health troubles. Tried to milk another year round sucking on the generous Fremantle teat.

No respect for him.

Yes Gilmore was crap today, but the worst footballer we have ever had was by a long way Dan Parker. Anyone else remember him? Well I'd rather not

Bony girl arms, tall and useless. Weak in the extreme and one of the worst kicks going around. Not to mention ZERO ticker! The exact opposite to his brother Shane.
Was unfortunate enough to see him moved onto Wayne Carey during the Mothers Day Massacre at the MCG. One of the worst performances ever!

Worst player we have ever had. PERIOD!!!:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

Gilmore looked like he had some potential a couple of seasons ago . This year he has played poorly in the few games he has played . It seems like he is just not in sync with the game . Maybe its cause he has been out of the team for pretty much a year . I would say give him 2 or 3 more games (even though he played shit) to step up to the level and if he doesnt drop kick him for good.

He has been making Bradley look skilled . Bradley of course is a dud - Essendon already worked that out . So what do we do? We draft him!
I don't think that is quite true. As the risk of sounding like a know it all, I posted a good few years back that Gilmour was never going to develop. There is something where he just can't seem to learn from experience and he hasn't really developed from day one.

Happy has just never seemed to have the goods to deliver in a game with genuine intensity. He tends to play the game on his terms and his terms only versus adjusting to the conditions required.

Yesterday, he seemed to wander around like he wasn't sure which team he was playing for. He must be gorn surely.

As to Bradley, he is light years in front of Gilmore. Kepler has a lot going for him not the least of which he keeps improving. I can tell you without looking though that Kepler has taken more contested marks in a single game that Gilmore has in his career.

Agree Dagg, Bradley is still young for someone so tall and oaf-like. Should be patient with him for a few more seasons yet. Gilmore- Crab

If you take all the best attributes from Gilmore, Murphy, Head and Campbell and combined them, you'd find that Bradley is still light years ahead... and Kepple is the King of GoofBall Central.

I think your opinion on Gilmore is fair enough . My thoughts that he had potential were due to the fact than he was very mobile for somebody of his height . Compare him to the sloth-like Mundy . Certainly he hasnt developed but he has hardly played afl from the time he was being tried out as a relief for Sandi .

One area I have to strongly disagree is Bradley . His disposal is appalling in general and he always looks off balance in contests. he is an awkward player and wont change .You dont get delisted if you are doing ok .

Correct me if I'm wrong... but I think he got wiped out in a game a couple of years ago, and ever since then he's struggled to get back. Maybe it's confidence, maybe it's minor brain damage, perhaps he doesn't want to get crunched again, or perhaps it's just a lack of ability. Yes, it was a poor performance but sometimes it's for a reason.

No doubt the coaches are giving him a go just to see if he's up to it and if he can't make it then he probably won't be around next year. Either way, lets just give the guy go... Hey, at least he has a stronger AFL-ready body, and if there's someone else that is better, then put them in the 22. At the moment though, I don't think there are too many players left. It's not as if we're trying to get into the finals.

Say whatever you want about Giklomre, but in reality. Gilmore>Murphy. So seeing he has such bad disposal maybe a stint in the Forward line wouldbe the answer, we all know he has a pretty good leap on him.

Keppler was decent a few times yesterday, I figure if every team has to carry at least one hack, he'd be a pretty good one to keep around.

I dunno, he still did some boneheaded things. I know what you're saying though, he does do some things that you don't expect a big man to do, and he can pull down a contested mark. I'm hoping one day he's going to suddenly stop being such a bonehead.
