All but rules us out of drafing a ruck, was hoping we'd look at Chol/Nyuon. But Gorringe is a handy pickup, if he can nail a kpp spot than we'll be doing alright.

From a somewhat different point of view, I'm actually happy we've picked up a lad who has a somewhat 'feisty' personality.

Too many introvert/polite types on our list atm, I am convinced part of Hawthorn's on field success is because they have a core group of players who love ruffling the feathers/getting under the skin of their opponents.

It'd be great if Gorringe plays with a chip on his shoulder, determined to stick it up The Suns and prove them wrong. There's plenty of motivation for DG to be a valuable player for us.

Spot on DVB.

GWS players had a reputation for being very aggressive and "lippy" even in the early years.

It seems that SOS wants players with a bit of "attitude"!!

I like it a lot!!!!

Welcome to another top 10 pick for CFC to improve under BB. Clearly has some class. Hope he is up for a challenge.

Great to see CFC have moved up the 2010 Draft from Watson (pick 18/delisted) to Gorringe (pick 10/DFA) at no trade cost;).
In that case I would have preferred Tom Lynch.

Ruck stocks look much better, 4 ruckmen is about right going into a season seeing as I don't expect Korcheck to be ready to go next season. Good to have ruckmen who have some ability to play in the forward line and take the odd mark and have some athleticism around the ground.

As I kept saying when it looked like we might have been going to lose Kreuzer at one stage and also Warnock. Decent ruckmen are a dime a dozen. They practically grow on trees. They are easy to find and this is why it's stupid to spend early picks on them. I think we've pretty much proven this.

Good get, will keep us fairly strong in this area.

First player we have recruited not from Craig/Trigg/SOS's old clubs...

Not sure if that means anything, but I found it mildly interesting / reassuring.

Welcome Big Dan!

Gorringe was recruited from Norwood. Neil Craig played for and coached Norwood.

All sounds like Six Degrees of Separation to me.

What an incestuous competition.

Next you'll tell me that Korcheck had an Australian connection before the AFL (I know that he did)

Welcome to Carlton Daniel... it seems that we might still go for one of the McKay twins, but there will be a lot less pressure on them now to perform sooner.

I think that we might end up using Gorringe in Casboult's old role as a forward/ruckman... either that, or we will use Phillips in that role.

Welcome Dan Gorringe, I know next to nothing about you but you seem a competitor going off the article I just read. Hopefully another Everitt story.

Glad we've addressed the rucks this offseason, no need for another in the draft this year tho and if any of out new acquisitions turn to be long term options then all the better and draft another in 2 years to develop.

Interesting Dram.

A few people have asked where are the extra R1 picks coming from for next years draft.

If the new talls progress quickly and at the end of 2016 season a team desperate for talls comes knocking on SOS's door?

Would he be tempted to part with Kreuz or Levi for first round picks?

If the offer is good enough my bet is "yes"!!
