Footy IQ can't be taught you either have it or you don't , however with Daniel being very athletic, with good speed and his height half the battle is won.
I reckon our ruck coaches are the real key Josh Fraser especially, smart move from SOS worth a shot we may just get the best out of the lad.

I think kreuzer plays his best football full time , on the ball. I dont necessarily see Gorringe as a ruckman with his athleticism.

i agree that it is a low risk move. There is a realistic chance with these expansion team cast offs , that there was never enough game time to really assess properly all the young talent that they have. One downside to having a team of talented youngsters is this very problem. There are so many youngsters to try out that once someone shows an inch of potential above the others, they pounce on that player at the expense of some of the other developing talent that they have. Gorringe could be one of those players...or he could be a goose

I don't think anyone doubts that Gorringe is a goose. His efforts in the last year were unprofessional to say the least.

Clearly there's quite a few people, better judges of talent then me, who think this guy can play footy. He's on his last chance. Hopefully that's enough motivation for him to put in 100%. I hope so.

I think Josh Fraser would have had a big say in getting Gorringe over. Both friends from the Suns and honestly Gorringe gives us good flexibility. We can play him in the ruck of forward and he's a very diligent trainer, will set good standards.

Hopefully they're aware that both will leave and plan accordingly.

Cameron, Patton, Himmelberg, Stewart, Finlayson and Haynes - they've got some quality there as well as plenty of depth. And with the Academy system in place, you can pretty much guarantee they'll have access to a quality tall every other year at a minimum - they can actually develop kids from a young age to suit their list strategies and forecast requirements.
