He got picked because we have no one else, but good luck and hope he has a solid game welcome to the Blues and wear the jumper with pride that's all we ask.

From Mumbai, India

could be the type of player we get a 2nd/3rd round pick for down the track, having picked him up for nothing, hard to see him getting games ahead of kreuzer or phillips without injuries. stocks have fallen a ways after getting knocked back by port, hopefully for his sake he shows everyone what he's capable of.

I stand by what I said....I don't expect many if any to better goldy.
But it wasn't just his rucking, it was his overall game & showed why he is 3rd / 4th string.
Personally would've preferred wood, but that's just me.

Maybe we learnt he is not a ruckman today? ....Seriously wonder if some just want to shout damn we ****.

Would have preferred Wood too but least now I seen a full game from Gorringe to see what he is like in ruck.
As I suspected he was out of his depth. We would have done better tonight on scoreboard with Wood rucking but for long term it was better to have a proper look at this player on our primary list. We picked him up as a de-listed free agent ad saw nothing to suggest he was unfairly de-listed. Least we know now.
Probably be de-listed at end of season or given another try as a forward next week.

His "Jackie Chan outta midair" should win goal of the year ala' Daniel Wells all those years ago.
An underwhelming debut for us. Unlucky to come up against the best ruckman in the comp first up though.

Wow half you guys don't even give a bloke a chance, SO DAMN NEGATIVE! He did ok for someone playing AFL against Goldy, He can only get better.
Not surprising. A couple of weeks ago some supporters were wanting to drop Plowman. Sumner has also been in the gun & even a couple told us all that Thomas was no longer capable of playing AFL football.

Sadly we have a minority of supporters who really struggle to embrace players from other clubs & who take a dislike to a specific player & won't even attempt to find positives in their performances.

He seems to be more suited in a tall utility role with relief ruck duties for small bursts.

Was on a hiding to nothing, and for a player who has been spoken came to us after GC shattered his confidence was probably in the worst position he could be placed in.

May play next week and that doesn't look like a much smaller task.

Surely Gorringe offers more long term than Wood and that being the case its a no brainer to play him

I read elsewhere on the board that he could potentially be trained as a forward, being 3rd in line for the ruck (without even considering Rowe) that makes sense. If thats the case, for sure throw him in tonight and let him run around getting a game under his belt.

I'd doubt the coaching staff are throwing him out based on tonights game, did some good things and seemed to move fairly well, but was never going to come close to winning in the area he was asked to play
